Hi,

Ive recently purchased an RS250 (2stroke) and would like to know if there is any way to check the mixer oil level other than relying on the oil light...
There doesnt appear to be any level gauges, and theres no mention of anything but the oil light in the owners manual.

Thanks!

On my old one, it used to say in the manual that the tank is worth about 500kms of running. I just used to make sure it was topped up every ride. Used a torch to check the level before filling though as it's a bugger to clean up any overflow.

Have you got the RS250GP-1 in Alice colours? Maybe my old one, there weren't many about.

if its like my old aprilia rsvr you can check the oil level by how long the oil slick is on the road is after the oil tank hose has blown off!

Oh yeah, and any overflow is pretty much directed toward the rear tyre! A nice slow drip feed method.

Usually you can check how full the bottle is, thats what I used to do on my NSR.

Yep, that's the same colours I had, actually had two - the first one came off second best after a low side and hitting a van head on :innocent: . RS250 GP-1. I've got a spare user maintenance book, also some decals, brought a set when one of the lower ones had to be replaced due to peeling back with the heat of the exhaust and a spare indicator (stuffed one moving the bike out of the garage). You are welcome these, just PM me.

You can check out a pic of the bikes I had on the 'show us your 2-fifty thread' page one I think??
