More Gun Porn, but this time from a Bike Manufacturer.

It's Italian, so you need an ankle length leather coat, slicked back hair or a shaved dome and $500 shoes to be allowed to carry this delightfully styled weapon.

For some reason the 3.5in Ultra Magnum round appeals to me.

oh but where's the fun ( or sport) in THAT???

case in point:

An Army grunt stands in the rain with a 35-pound pack on his back, 15 lb. weapon in hand, after having marched 12 miles, and says,"This is shit!"

An Army Airborne Ranger stands in the rain with a 45 lb. pack on his back, weapon in hand, after having jumped from an airplane and marched 18 miles, and says with a smile,
"This is good shit!"

A Navy SEAL lies in the mud, 55 LB pack on his back, weapon in hand, after swimming 10 miles to shore, crawling through a swamp and marching 25 miles at night past the enemy positions, says with a grin, "This really is great shit."

A Marine, up to his nose in the stinking, bug infested mud of a swamp with a 65 LB pack on his back and a weapon in both hands after jumping from an aircraft at high altitude, into the ocean, swimming 12 miles to the shore, killing several alligators to enter the swamp, then crawling
30 miles through the brush to assault an enemy camp, says,
"I love this shit."

The Air Force NCO sits in an easy chair in an air-conditioned office, and says,
"My e-mail's out? What kind of shit is this?"

You should see the size of some of the anti material rifles coming out 20mm and bigger, with some interesting recoil reducers!

theres a few really nice SNIPER (http://www.sniperworld.com/) sites around

The longest-ever confirmed sniper kill was made by Master Cpl. Arron Perry of the Canadian Armed Forces in Afghanistan during combat in 2003. Using a .50-caliber MacMillan TAC-50 rifle, Perry shot and killed an Afghan soldier from a distance of 2,430 metres.

The record was set during Operation Anaconda when a Canadian three-man sniper team from the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, (PPCLI), set the new record with a shot on a Taliban fighter

That's about 1.5 miles That, my friends, is a truly amazing feat. The bullet was in the air for four seconds and dropped 146 feet. About 250 meters longer than Carlos Hathcock's famous shot.

Sniping is one of the most boring of skills and the most uncomfortable, the skills of a sniper don"t appear until after you have fired the shot. A sniper use to be one of the most despised soldiers in the battalion and selection is based on a pschological profile of a low life can't ...tossers like you think its fashionable because you experience it from playstation and DVD, go get some experience then we will see if you spend all your time dreaming, some of you may feel more than recoil when you pop the shot.

Are those sort of things in the first photo in private collections?
Yes, in the USA they are allowed to have them and even shoot them at certain times!!!
There are some fantastic full-noise shoots in a couple of the states. They clear the downrange area with a helicopter (a few miles to check) to ensure that nobody has strayed into the area, and then let rip at the targets. They even have radio controlled aircraft drones to fire at!

Ahh, bliss!
Takes me back to firing .50 BMG on full noise!! Great times.

Perhaps you should challenge their outrageous claims too, put them to the test - after all, it's unthinkable we might have real military people and police on a motorbike forum, everyone knows the internet is entirely populated by 14-year-old wannabes googling all their "knowledge". In fact, we probably don't really have motorbikes either...

Given that people are most inclined to accuse others of what we're doing themselves, I've really got to question your user name, "doc".

AR 15 dripping with Extra's. Those are nice rifles Death.

The .50 didnt happen to be an IME Desert eagle by chance?

Not sure, it was full stainless and looked very handmade.

Nope, definetly not an IME then

Brave man to be using a .50 handgun that looks homemade :eek5:

No, not homemade, handmade (or maybe handcrafted may be a better term) very one-off milled finish from memory, but definately a proper production gun.
May be the eagle still, it was a while back.....
I don't think it was this, it didn't have the black handles and I think the stock(?) was the same width as the barrel...and I'm sure it was longer.

You know whats funny. No one has said anything about being SAS or SBS or and special forces so I would like to see where you get that from.

Besides, Dover is just stirring shit again.... :nya:

Yup... and thats a fact...

The thing thats amuses me in threads like this is when people start to believe their own fictitious talk about themselves - dont know if its funny or pathetic.

Note how I quoted Indoo and not Dover (can never let people know I agree with him  )

A .50cal is not guaranteed to stop a bear - no handgun is. And with proper placement (or blind luck) you could stop a bear with a lesser calibre (not as likely - you try "proper placement" when you've got a huge carnivore bearing down on you).

As impressive as the .50 is, I recall the .454 "Casull" is more powerful - originally a "wildcat" round (cut down and renecked rifle cartridge designed to be fired in custom made weapons) that went into commercial production. There are a lot of wildcat pistols out there firing rifle rounds or cut down rifle rounds. They're devastating but not guaranteed to stop anything.

Personally I'd go for a 9mm because you can buy a lot more 9mm ammo for your buck than any other calibre which means I can afford to practise a lot more than someone using a less common, more expensive cartridge. For the price of a magazineful of .50cal for the Desert Eagle I could buy a shitload of ex-military 9mm ammo and practise to my hearts content.

I wouldn't expect a 9mm to stop a deer, let alone a bear, but once I had built up my accuracy and speed practising with 9mm it wouldn't take a as much practise to get up to speed with a heavier calibre.

Can't afford any of that or the club fees etc, so I use .177cal... (not that I expect Dopey, errr, I mean Doc, to believe I own an air pistol, he probably thinks I only have a water pistol. Good for him, he's welcome to his own delusions)

It was pretty accurate for the type of gun it was, no where near as good as my Ruger M77 MII .223 but for a .308 semi-auto that was proberly 15years old or more it did the trick.
They were first brought in the country in the 80's(i think?), and used as chopper guns to shoot deer. Thats why mine had been stripped of its carry handle, open sights, flash suppressor, muzzle break and winter trigger.

Mr Hardass, he of the mental health days.

Fact is if you did half the shit you claimed to have done you would not be in NZ. Immigration would make sure of that.

As for your military history, fuck knows, but I come from a military family and know a lot of ex servicemen and none of them feel the need to bleat about what they have done or portray themselves as an urban warrior.

Maybe it's different for americans and saffers, we all know they like to run their mouths, but hows about scanning your discharge papers and service record to back all your claims up?

I don't claim to be anything more than a peat nigger with a degree in inebriation and a bad attitude. Those facts speak for themself.

I have the swingarm bolt off an 82 DR250, and an egg beater with only one whisk head in it, but it could really do some damage if you chucked a finger or two into the blade, when its on speed setting 3.

Failing that, I would just use the TV remote to defend myself, flick the channel to Holmes, or Home and Away, and people tend to want to leave in a hurry.

You wankers are a bunch of armchair experts, who I think spend too much time surfing dreaming and then start to believe that you could do that too. Sniping is one of the most boring of skills and the most uncomfortable, the skills of a sniper don"t appear until after you have fired the shot. A sniper use to be one of the most despised soldiers in the battalion and selection is based on a pschological profile of a low life can't ...tossers like you think its fashionable because you experience it from playstation and DVD, go get some experience then we will see if you spend all your time dreaming, some of you may feel more than recoil when you pop the shot.

oh look.. another douchebag for my ignore list..
