View Full Version : Big purple backfiring van up my arse...

Str8 Jacket
16th August 2006, 19:03
Yes folks, its exactly what it sounds like.

I was riding over Aro hill (Raroa Rd) toward town when a big purple van came up behind me, I noticed them immediately as they were making the van backfire really loudly every few seconds and I thought someone had had an accident. They started tailgating me and cotinuing with the backfiring until the lights on Abel Smith. So I tap on my brakes a few times, tried politely indicating to them to back of but they started to get aggresive. 3 or 4 times they tried to intimidate me by driving right up next to me and yelling obscenities out the window and then they'd go back to sitting up my arse. Quite rude really, I have a boyfriend....
When I got to the lights they drove right up and hit my back wheel so I couldnt move. There was a red light and they started beebing there horn and revving shit out of there shit van. I was feeling a little vulnerable so as soon as I had the chance I swung into a carpark on the side of the road and they backfired past yelling something out the window... I called *555 and reported them. I will lay a formal complaint tomorrow but if anyone can help me out their numberplate is DBT771, I wouldnt mind knowing who they are.... *nudge nudge, wink wink*

That sucks, I aggressive drivers on road, although Queenstown's pretty sweet. I always just accelerate to mach 4, that shuts em up pretty quick. (I hear you people laughing- fxr. mach 4. ha. I'll have you know they're pretty quick at 11,000rpm with only 60kg to carry)
Anyhow, sorry I can't help with the 'nudge nudge, wink wink', but hope you don't develop a complex about purple vans now.

I feel sorry for you Hels that is incredibly aggressive behaviour on their part. I'd suspect they were suffering some sort of substance abuse to be so full of bravado. Glad you got out of it without a scratch.

Failing to stop at the scene of an accident - $400.
Driving without due care and attention - $250.
Pissing off a couple of hundred bikers - priceless.

If you can find out where they live just have Colapop and FJ (seeing they offered) sneaking around at night and taking the valves out of all their tyres could be priceless enough.

in a way years ago, i was sitting at some lights in Auckland all by myself waiting for them to change, and all of a sudden i feel this bump from behind. This clown had driven straight onto my back wheel. I get off my bike and have a look for damage and ask him what the f was he thinking, and he replys sorry mate i didnt see you there. Unbeleivable! Couldn't beleive it myself, didn;t really no what to do. Anyway, hope you give those fellas some of there own back.

that sucks str8. good on you for reporting them...as someone else said, purple vans wouldnt be very common. best of luck with any charges they get put on them, and good on you for keeping your cool...having someone connect with your backwheel would knock your balance, you did well to keep her upright.

Hey Hels sorry to hear about the glandular fever, that illness is a pig and goes on for ages. My little angel daughter (who's 20) got it about March this year, ended up throwing away a complete semester at Uni, never even sat the exams, and is only just starting to feel a bit better now but still gets very tired easily. You won't want me taking you on strenuous trail rides or anything then?

Brett
17th August 2006, 19:10
I know it is easy to say now, but when they parked up against your back tyre and pinned it so that you couldn't move, you should have simply applied front brake, lifted RPM and release the clutch. Spinning back wheel + plastic bumper lodged up against it = expensive bumper repair.
Sorry to hear they were such dicks, hope you find out who they are.

Just a thought: should anything 'unfortunate' happen to his van, you could well be implicated, as the police will know you have a grudge and also know where the van is parked...

After all, is this not a case of your word against his?

(I had someone deliberately rear end me once on my treadly, and although myself and even two witnesses reported it, nothing ever came of it... so without witnesses, what are your chances of getting justice, do you think..?)

Smacking people over is just going to get the wrong people thrown inside. Nothing wrong with tracking the guy down and letting it be known he ain't invisible and 5,000 plus people are keeping an eye on him but violence - come on...

Every one of us would like to think a quick smack upside the head is going to sort this guy out but it would probably be about as useful as israel walking into lebabnon, it justs gets him a bit angrier and even stupider.

Cops wont do jack unless someone was hurt, they just dont have time.

I had a young guy in front of me yesterday on the Wellington motorway in a ute with a motor on the back covered with plastic, the plastic came off at 100km and onto my bike!, i couldn't avoid it. i was lucky it didn't get jammed in my front wheel.

You got the address, go torch the feckin van.....nuff said!

A response like this makes me realise that all the others that posted similar responses 'know' that the owner was the driver or at least was present when this incident took place?
How did they 'know' this?

Imagine the boot on the other foot. (And I've heard it said (written?) on this site "tell them it was somebody you don't know taking your bike for a test ride")

Indeed. The van is not at fault. Allegedly "fault" lies with the driver of said at the alleged and unwitnessed time and place referred to earlier in this thread. If a crime has been committed, then the official justice system is the most appropriate way of dealing with it.

"Official justice system" doesn't work. Never did work for motorcyclists, now doesn't work for anyone.

*nudge nudge, wink wink*
hmm purple van, could only mean one thing, very very very angry gay people, but seriously you done the right thing by reporting them, i hope they get what they deserve

Van's should only be used for throwing a matress in the back of, and going crazy with a chick. Not going crazy at a chick in the front of it, especially Hel's! What a complete Dumbass:gob:

Glad to hear everyone now knows where this Prick is, now we just have to find the Prick in the White Subaru WRX who did the Hit and Run on Saturday.

Hope you start feeling better soon Helen.:sunny:

how many cans of foam filler stuff does it take to fill a van?

An exhaust pipe fills quickly, but a boi ricer exhaust will take a little longer. (Or so I've heard)...:shit:

1 x Can of any aerosol. Preferably lighter fluid.
1 x Coat hanger
1 x Black Ninja outfit.

At night, approach said vehicicamacule while wearing the Ninja getup, having already prepared the coat hanger by unwinding it. Crawl under the vehamacule and set about wrapping the aerosol/lighter fluid container around the exhaust manafold.

While you may not be fortunate enough to be around to witness the result I can assure you that it's very impressive - One loud explosion and a severely damaged exhaust/engine, and a new set of under-garments required for those in the vehicle within minutes of them starting up the vehicle.

A card (printed on someone elses printer and only touched by those wearing gloves) should be left on the wind shield thanking the vehicle owner/driver for showing courtesy to other drivers (don't mention bikers, these pricks need no further excuse for harassing we bikie types).

Capish?

Is that anything like "hatish", or more like "capiche"?

It's similar to the Russian word "заднепроходно".

A revenge tip that doesn't get you in trouble: Write up a letter explaining that you are not happy with his dangerous driving and blah blah blah. Then post it up here, and get 100 people to print it out and send it.
