My FXR rides like a new girl, so smooth and sexy and all I did was give her a touch of lubrication in the right places :innocent:
Put some SAE50 oil down the throttle & clutch cable tubes, cleaned & oiled under the throttle hand grip, oiled the gear change pivot points, and the foot brake pivot points. She'd be really smooth if I'd done the brake clippers too :shit:
So, it all twists, pulls, pushes, and moves so nice and smooth now, so much lighter and so much easier.
Even caught myself last night thinking: Did I just successfully change into the next gear or did my foot miss the gear lever all together ... :shutup: (it was a successful gear change)
10 minutes !!!! That's right folks, spent 10 minutes trying to figure out how to tighten up the throttle handle bar weights :mellow:
Found it interesting that the throttle handle is designed for twin cables but actually only uses one. Must be a common component.
Because I did the cable lubrication in place without any special tools, I'm still waiting for the oil to appear out the other end. Guess it'll arrive eventually. If it doesn't, I'll massage some more in.
