Alright, been playing around with this a bit lately and have a couple of mates telling me im 'pretty good' at it. The stuff I've been doing is pretty simple though and i have a project for a friend on the go at the moment.
This is your chance to show off you photo-editing skills to the KB community.
Try and keep it as bike-related as possible and show before-after pics so we can see what it is you've done and how well you pulled it off.
Here's my first play.

some girls said he looked hot on leather so i left him there. C'mon people surely im not the only one with a slightly creative flair!
If anyone knows how to add a gloss (eg to black) or a shine (like to chrome/silver) i'd like to know how.
With the first pic all i've done is masked the original stickers, used colour replace to an approximation of the surrounding blue, then used a couple different tones of the blue and airbrushed to keep the shading right, then to make it look natural i blurred it to keep the continuation.
For the tail piece and belly pan i did the colour replace again, selected area to change then just made it darker/lighter and changed the hue/saturation to get the desired colouring.
Just pulled the stickers off of a Xerox Replica Ducati so my friend can see sorta what their bike is gonna look like (can't show the rest or colour combo coz its a secret!)
Again, just selected the stickers that were white, and changed them to approximation of surrounding red then went to work with airbrush and smudge.

'
Doddle.
Draw a path over the required area.
Make it a selection from the paths palette.
From the 'edit' menu select 'adjust' then 'levels'
drag the ensuing right hand sllder about half way to the left.
Job done.

fark me... that changed it heaps! Takes away that drab look and makes all the fairings look like real plastic again!

No bike related stuff unfortunately - Maybe I'll onto one of the my motoTT trackday photos to try out some colour schemes for a possible repaint of my race fairings.

I occasionally play with Photoshop for shits'n'giggles when I catch a shot of a friend in a silly pose or something. Still, I'm not very good...
#1 Friend cornering inspired me to add the ravenous tiger
#2 Guy watching bikes with legs crossed - should have been in ballet!
#3 Feeling inspired after watching King Kong
#4 Posted before; a mate in Power Ranger pose:

MR, i just been playing a bit. Used to do aircraft textures for flightsim and repaint whole planes into RNZAF colours, but i did most of that in MS Paint and took ages to do what i can now do in a few mins in PS.
Unfortunately i'm only running PS5.5, my mate is gonna help me aquire a copy of the latest PS-CS2

Mate, I do so envy you. I have a client who always wants a Visual Reality depiction of the machines I design for him, and it takes me bloody ages to achieve very little. I use a Viz or Max as collaborative software to Inventor, but I wonder if more could be achieved using PS? If only there were 36 hours in a day, I might have the time to find out!

Went out today and bought the EP from a band called Cobra Khan (http://www.myspace.com/cobrakhan). Liked the album art so decided i'd have a play and see what i could do. Heres the images before and after. Still a few things to tidy up to make it look real nice, but its a complete image now which is enough work for one night!
Hope you all like it.
Pics are the front cover, a scan of the front/back cover on one page, and the completed image of the two covers joined together and gaps filled in etc.

Nice job on the album cover - would make a nice graphic for the back of a helmet... or something.
How was the music?

Yeh, i was thinking helmet graphic, jacket patch, tattoo etc.... pretty cool dont know that i'd really want it stained in my skin though.
Music is pretty cool, its indy punk from Auckland. The lead man used to from Sommerset if you are familiar with them, they broke up last year. Check out the link in the post with the pics to the myspace site, it has some songs you can listen too there if your keen.

I have to design a booklet for a huge project for Uni. One of the adverts that has to go in it is an advert for Coca Cola.
We were given a few logo's and a Coke bottle and design could be just about anything relating to our theme. My theme is Japan.
So I found this fridge at the back of a ute near K Road yesterday when I was desperatly hunting for subjects. Took a photo. Then I used the Image I got from Onearmedbandit from Japan and replecated reflection on the glass (This was pretty hard getting it to look like that). Then I used the coke bottle and pretty much filled the fridge with it and I had to recreate the inside of the fridge as well to make it seem realistic.
It's the most complex task I've done in Photoshop without any specific instructions and I'm pretty happy with it.

Before going any further after you have made your selection, use the Feather tool and go anywhere from 3 to 15 pixels depending on the effect you want to give and the size of your image. It gets rid of the sharp edges, so it looks more "natural".
