I am reliably informed that it is possible to drop the ride height of my 916 S4 Monster. Anyone know how to do the back end? Front is just sliding the fork legs through but the rear has me baffled.
Any ideas?

Thanks,

Rob with his Big Red Monster

I do not know what shock you have in the bike but, look at the bottom of the shock where it mounts to the swingarm thingy, and see if there are 2x Nuts on it, if so you will figure it out quite quickly.

If you get real lost, pm or call me 027-2559143

Is this the double sided swing arm jobby? (I lose track and can't be arsed Googling it)

The dual sided babies have got a wishbone monted to the other side of the shock linkage. The swivel joints attached to the ends of the wishbone screw into the wishbone. Just undo each joint at the swingarm and screw it in how ever far you want to lower it. You may have to adjust your chain tension in the process.

If it's a single sided version then there'll just be one rod coming down from the shock linkage to the super sexy single sided swingarm (sssorry, couldn't resist). This too will be adjustable. Again, check the chain tension after adjusting.

Enjoy, that's a nice ride ya got there.

BRM, you shy bugger, post a proper 'hello' thread.

He sits three desks across from me at work, folks. Make sure you give him a hard time.

I dunno, fecking pansy Ducatisti, they're letting all the riff-raff in these days...

the standard S4 comes with a double sided swingarm, the R has the sexy bit:yes:

have a look:

http://www.desmorados.com/serviceMY2K/s4/html/card_s4_t_19_uk.html

ST4 is similar and you can see the wishbone

if you have a R:

but keep in mind you will change the whole suspension setup and not just the height:scooter:

have fun

I also found this http://www.easterncycleducati.com/monsterlink.htm which is a different approach to it.
