My landlord (A biker) gave me some old bike mags (from 2004) that have been sitting in his waiting room at work, that no-one reads...
And in a Two Wheels Issue from 2004, they did a story on the lastest (at that stage) Yamaha R6... And they did a small feature on a Yamaha R6 designed (paintjob anyway) by Rossi himself...
Now its a limited edition, and I did a search on KB and couldn't find anything related to it...
Are there any of these in NZ?
Some may love the paint sceme (sun on one side and moon on the other) and other may hate it...
What do you think?
Edit: Only info I could find on the net: http://www.mickhone.com.au/yamaha/r46.htm

It'll give R6 Kid some food for thought - he's about to respray his bike I think.

I like it, I have never seen that before.
I wonder how much more it would cost from Yamaha

That's an R46 and the paint job was designed by Rossi. There were none in NZ when I bought my red R6. I looked.

I think there was a Rossi R6 too, different paint job though. There was one in a showroom in Sinney when I was there last year.

Although they were never imported here, Yamaha NZ are generally pretty good about getting genuine parts for any of their bikes.
If you simply MUST have one......order the fairing panels that have all of the intricate decals on them, then get a decent painter to colour match and paint your tank etc.

There was an article on them in Two Wheels a while ago.

I like it... but I don't want one of them lol. I do want an R6 though... but when I upgrade I'll be blinging my bike and making it all "ghey" and personalized... because I can

lol true...
I'm very set on the R6 as my next bike... was a toss up between all the other 600's and I kept ending up back with the R6... but when I test ride some 600's thats when the truth with come out :)

Tis the truth....as similar as they are in spec....one will just 'feel' right compared to the others!

I can see other uses for this idea.....for those inclined to do runners...say you had one side of your bike painted red, the other side blue - you go flying past mr plod (with red side showing) and he starts a pursuit - you get around the corner and do a quick U turn - and come back down the road on a blue bike........

I honestly havn't considered those before... Mainly because I thought that Triumphs where more expensive compared to the Jap bikes...
I can go and sit my full test on Dec 16. And after that (more than likely after x-mas sometime) I'll cruise around the bike shops and see who will let me test ride a few bikes... If any of the shops I go into have one, and its in my price range (which isn't much lol) I may consider it :)

We had those in the UK,my boss runs one actually. We also got limited edition R1`s in the old Kenny Roberts era Yellow with "speed blocks" paint, looked really cool.
