That's quite some range...
Not really 'hunting' so much as 'wonton distruction of creatures.'

The guy is doing "pest destruction" in Afganistan. Talitubbies are a pest and the season is open all year with a no-bag limit.

Seen some similar clips to that called dogbegone. They were shooting prairie dogs and blowing them into well the ended up looking like pools of mush. Great stuff!.
See a preview here.... http://www.dogbegone.com/video.htm

Longest confirmed kill is 2430 metres puts that range to shame at a rough guess, though I cant DL attachments from Kiwibiker even though my net is well fast enough!
And at those ranges the only warning you would get is the warm feeling of lead entering your body as the round would be well infront of the sound.
The longest-ever recorded and confirmed sniper kill was made by PPCLI Corporal Rob Furlong of the Canadian Forces in Afghanistan during Operation Anaconda in 2002. Using a .50-caliber (12.7 mm) McMillan TAC-50 rifle, Furlong shot and killed an opposing combatant soldier from a distance of 2,430 metres (1.5 miles)

2430/330 = 7.5 secs for the sound to get there

Shoot and relocate. Took a bullet over 4 secs to get there. It ould take them over 10 mins just to get organised and another 10 before they were on shot location. Good sniper could cover a kilometer and get hidden well before they get there
