Martin Crump (Radio Pacific host) just said that he wouldn't ride a bicycle in Auckland as it was "just too dangerous". Fair enough, I wouldn't either but then he added "bicycle OR motorcycle"!!! What the hell!? :argh:

2 years and 17,000 kms later (almost exclusively within Auckland City) I'm yet to be taken out by a cager. Had plenty of close calls but I certainly don't regard my choice of transport as "too dangerous" and I strongly object to some prat on the radio (who's probably never been on two wheels) putting that particular idea in the head of potential bikers. :spanking:

So you have phoned in to radio pathetic and discussed this small fact with him???

No, I'm afraid of becoming "one of them". You know, the type who phones talkback. ;)

What the hell? - he's right - but doesn't stop me.
It's fucking dangerous out there and never think otherwise.

Talkback radio,a finger on the pulse of the nation. This issue is important to you,you have an opinion....ring now, become involved....their very existance depends on you.

Im convinced that talkback radio is fueled by those with negative opinions. My mother is a bit reclusive and the only contact with todays issues are through talkback radio (as a listener). This leads to sweeping generalisations and disproportional statistics.

haha, my nana is like that, except she's one of the ones that phones in and gives her sweeping generalisations / opinions to the intelectual listeners of talkback radio

It's true. People like me shouldn't drive cars. Be careful.

Touch wood!

Ive been off work for the last 3 weeks on paternity leave and have been listening to a bit of talkback (newstalk zb). The majority of callers are ignorant, uninformed and angry. Most of the hosts are not much better.

More like a finger in the ass of the nation.

I wouldn't worry about anything said on talk back radio, i doubt anyone who listens to talkback is going to change any opinion thay have.

Good stuff. If it wasn't thought to be dangerous, we'd have every incompetent cager on two wheels too.

You gotta have your say, so many people are influenced by un informed opinionated people. Yes I have to agree, Biking is dangerous, but only because idiot car people don't look where they are going. You gotta watch those cars with lights on too, they are out looking for targets to take out: well at least thats my finding thus far. I agree with Sarge, he seems to be "The Man"

Go Sarge: you give em a shot.
