View Full Version : What did I learn from this??

Well I guess it had to happen eventually.
Putting down the slowlane on Aucklands Norwestern motorway on the reverant (honda 600 revere) Trafffic was heavy -max speed 50 km/h
A good sized gap opened up in front of me as cars funnelled off the carrington offramp.
I opened the ol boy up to an earth shattering 80km/h taking advantage of the gap in front of me.:scooter:
A silver toyota curren driver in the middle lane decided she wanted to occupy the same bit of road I was on. She was pretty emphatic and dramatic in her desire despite me being right alongside her left front guard at the time.
The crunching noise of collapsing car fender and compressing bone/boot was pretty loud. The screeching noise of the reverents tyres going fully sideways was interesting as well.
Im not sure if it was the thought of the panel beating bill or the dropped cellphone that convinced her that 2 dont go into 1 but she changed her mind as I was bouncing over the edge of the road leaning on her car.
Back into the middle lane and away she went.
The reverent was none too amused at this treatment but seems none the worse for wear.
Walking with a limp is ol frosty

Ohh and what did I learn--always wear good bike gear

If its really sore, pop down to Waitakere Hospital and get them to check it out.
A & E shut their doors at 10pm (cos its still a new hospital being set up)

Glad to hear your ok frosty.
It's unbelievable the number you do see on cells. I pulled pulled alongside a cage where the stupid tart was holding the cell in one hand and talking in the air with the other. Then wondered why the truck on her right where she was starting to wander towards hit the air horn. Stupid bitch dropped the cell with the shock, grabbed the wheel and then preceded to swerve to her left only to find me there. Thankfully, I had already pre-empted the situation, had dropped a gear and was already rolling the right hand.
It's about time they brought in the same law as the UK, hands free only and actively policing it.

"hands free only and actively policing it."

I think you'll find it's completly inactive policing for mobiles here....probably not enough Cash in it. speeding fines go to the 'safety camera partnership' to fund cameras / pissup / pay rises......mobile fines go to central government..

Jeez frosty, you mean bastard, scaring that poor cager like that. You should be ashamed of yourself.
At the very least you should have stopped her to apologise for being in the bit of road she wanted.
and then smacked the stupid bitch in the head!
Glad you are basically ok, stay safe mate.
I also hope you got her number plate and reported her to the cops. btw it is an offence for her to fail to stop for an injury accident.

Funny ya should mention that. All day ive be replaying it in my head.
Dont get me wrong I don't concider my riding to be above average-So How did I avoid it being a crash or a biker down??
So far the only thing I can think of is that at the moment of impact I leaned IN towards her car not as every instinct wanted me to-keep leaning away.
