Had my first off at a track at Taupo on the weekend and thanks to me Oggy Knobbs, the damage was minimal.
There had been some light misty rain, but the track appeared to be still dry and I was riding it hard as always. I was doing a tight left hand corner and must have leant it over a bit much because the next thing I remember is being on the ground watching the Gixxer sliding into the kitty litter.
"FUCK, I hope I can still ride it home" was my first thought.
Then I made my next mistake, I got up and walked over to my bike without checking for other bikes coming down the track. Was lucky that there wasn't.
I picked the bike up and breathed a sigh of relief to see that the only thing that had broke off was the Stebel horn off my custom bracket as the Knobbs had taken all the damage. :niceone:
Of course it was a low speed low-side crash. Not sure how much they would have protected the bike on a high speed or high-side crash.
The rear of the bike was protected by MotovationUSA Swingarm Sliders (http://www.motovationusa.com/mvstore/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=52) and the left pillion peg so the tail fairing didn’t get touched.
