well alot of poeple laughed at me when i told them i was racing the international at taupo, but i thought it would be an awesome oppurtunity to gage my abiltiy against the best thier ever was,

at sign on i saw i had been put into the b grade qualifier after not being ranked in the top 40 of the mx1 guys entered, being a bit miffed at this i went out and qualified 29th in teh field to make the MX1 class,

The first race came up on us pretty fast and the fire works to start the bikes was a bit of the novelty, by this time my fan club had turned up with a huge banner, any one that was their i was the Scotty they were refering to,

I got an average start that got better when Smets and Everts held up a lot of poeple with a first turn crash, at the end of the 1st lap the to belgium masters came past, not as quick as i thought they might but they lokoed to be taking thier time and not forcing their way though the field, i felt good though the race being able to jump all the big jumps, by this time the sawdust sections were very hard work, it was bascally pic a line and hold on and hope, i seemed to be able to make passes in the sawdust by riding smart and picking lines, i cam around and saw the white flag was out and with josh fast approaching i let him though so i would not have to do the last lap, i was pretty tired by this time and was content with 26th in that race.

Race two and i got a better start, i ran just outside the top 20 for about half the race before fading a bit near the end, this time i did not get lapped however in the back section i got hit from behind by a young guy onm a crf450, this tookm the wind out of me, i got up and cruised to the finish line, coming up to the big Centerpoint tabletop i thought i better jump it as i was the last bike left on the track, i had been jumping this in 3rd all day but slowing down on the upface not to overjump it, becuase i did not carry the spped into the bottom i decided to give it a bit of gas on the way up the face, this was a mistake as i over jumped and flat landed, this hurtmy wrist a bit and my prise a whole lot, i ended up 25th in this race to grab 25th overall,

overall this is the mest mx event i have ever been to and i am stoked to get to race in front of 11000 people, i have attached some pics

Ahh good ol Shane Rice, awesome photographer :)

I'll have a look to see if I have any photos of you over the Centre Point jump.
I was pretty much focusing on everyone in the MX1 race.

i was watching you Scott, good riding by you. It was a cool event. Its a shame Brownie wasn't riding also.

Everts had the sawdust section after the centerpoint jump totally sussed, he was real quick through there. Cooper also had that area dialled, to Coppins dismay.

I thought Groombridge and Cooper were the riders of the day.

My hat comes off to you Scotty, that's a hell of an achievement man. To be in a race with people of that calibre, is in itself, a testament to your abilities, well done.

Haha, just noticed your race number... Scotty dishing out the 411 yo~

Your Just lucky I m not there , by the time you came round to lap the back markers there would be this fat slow thing holding you up ,,,, Hogging the lines ....then you would NEVER get by !!!

On a serious note , I have seen how fast Narita is , and he just looks like he is cruising when all others are on the ragged edge and he was Mid field to last ....in the last international MXI saw him in

Show you how fast coppin/everts are !!!

and you werent lapped .... well done !
