It's never worth it mate. Too vulnerable on a bike for idiots like this.

Yup, and I hightailed it out of there everytime before any shit happened, the odds are not in our favour in a bike vs car argument.

Why did you feel the need to give the wank sign?,if he wanted to speed up and pull away why not just let him go.I could be wrong, but it seemed to me that you created the reaction that you got.

I tend to agree with you S83, but this kinda thing happens on a regular basis, (the cars wanting a race thing) and its always when Im on a small bike with no shit show of getting away if things turn bad.

but does being flicked the wanker sign (because you know you are being one) warrant trying to take someone out with your car.

....its always when Im on a small bike with no shit show of getting away if things turn bad.
then I would think your aim would be to not confront them, or give them any reason to want to do anything other than drive along normally...
I have had wankers in front of me often... braking and weird shit, you just stay behind them, ready for anything. If it gets bad (without you doing anything) you can turn off, and he can't make the same turn...
If someone is doing something, they generally want a reaction, and by not providing one, you eliminate that factor.
Having a faster bike would only get you into more trouble, either hitting other vehicles at speed, or cops, or something else. Big bikes have no trouble hitting 100 in not much more than a blink...

Being a so called "Professional Driver" on of the most important things I am aware of is the only actions I can be sure of are my own.
I drive a 44 tonne B train unit carrying shit you dont want to know about :shit: I ride a GS in my spare time and the same attitudes come in handy. Only one small difference. If I screw up in the truck there will be lots of dead people, if I screw up on the bike chances are there will only be one
As for road rage, let it go. The day I lay beside the front wheel of my truck and watched the arsehole pick up the hammer again, thinking shit I have to stay conscious and get up or this guy is going to kill me is the day I learnt its not worth the hassle.

Had a strange experience last night riding home, country road south auckland, came upon a car following a truck doing 80, car passed truck then i passed both of them, car saw me and speed up as i was passing, no big problem i was on the VFR so just powered ahead, now car was right up my arse as i slowed to cruising speed, seems car was pissed off with me and goes to overtake, no problem just let car pass (being safe) then just re pass car after car pulls back in, well this really pissed of car as car swerves at me as i pass!!!,well thats just not cricket.Anyway i know where car lives and car will have a hard time starting come monday morning.

Yep I was chased on the motorway earlier this year, and a few years ago I was chased by a wanker in a Jag from Whangamata almost all the way back to Auckland...now you may be thinking that on a bike I should have been able to lose the wanker but it was dark, raining and my visor was so scratched that my visibility was poor (yep got a new visor the next day).
It was the first time I have ever been scared. That ride home still rates as the worst of my life. I really thought he was trying to kill me.
Oh BTW my crime was overtaking him...

had a similar thing, went to pass somebody and he swerved toward me, i had not given him a hand sign.
so i passed him anyway, moving, then got up the road and thought fuck you you cunt, came back and turned around again and got back behind him and tailed him for a while, i could almost smell the shit in his pants........

This sort of thing just seems to be getting more and more common, go back a few years and it would be once in a blue moon that you'd strike some dickhead on the road. Now it's almost a daily occurence - sometimes more than once a day.
I've got a modern bike, a classic bike, a performance car and a Commodore ute and it doesn't seem to make any difference what I'm driving or riding I still see the same amount out there.
Perhaps it's something to do with poor education, surely there can't be THAT many crack heads out there???

I must admit I have had the odd nutter driving up my ass for no good reason. My solution is to slow right down and point out to the gentleman/woman that their mother partakes in hot screaming animal sex with goats and pigs (No not the cops). I once had someone spit at me too, there are some serious fuckwits out there, good thing is though that we can (most of the time) slip through traffic and leave the dipshits behind.

Yep, was heading onto customs st, just before the tepid baths, was in the left lane, some guy in a Holden not a commodore but similar size? Anyway started drifting right into my lane, I beeped, he looked at me, and swerved faster into me smiling away, ended up right on the curb! when he stopped at the lights I had a word with him since his window was down he seemed to think it was a right laugh.
What surprised me most was he was middle aged businessman or similar (tie, dress shirt). Was extremely tempted to smash his wing mirror but didn't still not sure if I should or shouldn't have.
I saw a taxi pull out across two lanes right in front of a bike, biker had to jam the breaks on pretty hard to avoid an accident the driver actually stopped, got out and had a go at him amazing its as if some car drivers think if they have any incident with a bike it must be the bikers fault.

Kinda agree with thepom. Too much BS about just calling the cops later because its not worth it. The cops don't care and can't do anything about it anyhow. My (probably considered bonehead) idea is to A-Wait untill they stop and go ape shit at them or if they are a bit big for ya-wait untill they park their car and come back later with a crowbar and a couple rocks to get their car with. Yes, I've inherited the road rage thing lmao The jump out and get the other guy at the next red light kind of thing

Similar experience, I passed a line of traffic on the entry to a small town, as I slowed for the town and checked out my mirror I noticed a car had pulled out from the que and was bearing down on me at a great rate of knots, I also noticed it was full of Black Power, and they were definitely intending to kill me, I hit the gas and we indulged in a 200km/h run, Fastest I have ever been around those corners, and numerous times they were within a meter or so of my back wheel. Damn them Harleys and their lack of top end speed.
Anyway, They wouldn't let up, they were pushing cars off the road, they were using both sides of the road to get around corners, They only fell behind when they took a corner wide, ended up in the gravel and couldn't bring her back onto the tarmac.
And I lived to see another day, Though I thought I was a goner when we roared through Bulls flat out.

Yikes! Brings to mind a ride home earlier this year when I was tootling along with Blackbuell and he overtook a car that decided it wasn't happy about that and gave chase. I stayed behind the car watching in fascination and HORROR as it went sideways around corners giving chase to a bike it was never gonna catch. The road was Kaiaua to Clevedon...not a alot of straights!
The driver put his passenger AND his dog at risk because of???? WHAT????

haven't had any cars trying to drag me off or chase me but plenty of useless drivers doing the old cut me off and try and run you out of room tricks........
just give them a toot and a wave.
If i think a driver is too dangerous or unpredictable I'll do whatever to get out of the way.
although a few have been real close to having the door panel kicked in as i go past.

Today I just smile and let them go. Not worth it. And as my memory is crap I know that I will forget all about it in a minute or two...

Might be the same dick (or brother of) as I encounted yesterday.
I was on that one way street in Newmarket that lead you onto the Motorway northbound. Two lanes, both turn right, left hand lane gets you onto the M/Way and the right takes you into Newmarket. I nornally use the right lane and get into the left just around the corner, easy when you know how. The left lane always has a line of cars (when im there it does anyway) so I get around the corner, look to get into the left lane and this guy in a small goods truck does not want me there, he looks at me with a wank grin cos' he holds his ground (fair enough) I tuck in behind him. Get onto the on ramp. two lanes, he is in the left, I go to the right to pass him, he jumps into the right to stop me. Finally on the M/Way... easy to pass him now, so I do, when I get along side, he is having a huge laugh...glad I made his day.

I have stories that would blow you away and you would think im making these stories up, ive lost count with the bullshit i have seen on the road and that includes phucktards on bikes, yes your fellow bikers do dumb shit too. Two months ago I had two bikes on my side of the road and they had pillions, it was almost a head on and they said they did not see me, they did not have 150 mtr clear vision and claim a tree hid me from view...there was no tree to be hiding behind and to make matters worse they were arguing as to who was in the wrong, these sort of twats should not be allowed to breed EVER.
Cars passing on a bridge and almost killing me and they look at me and say you have plenty of room, yes you feel like smashing them over but they are not worth it I just let karma do the job these days.
A message to the prats who like to pass on blind corners, if you do take me out or any of my friends it could be the last time you ride, you know who you are and if you dont you need help, or a bashing, or running off the road which ever comes first depending on what type of rider you endanger.:2guns:

I was riding back from Tauranga on the main motorway to Auckland and some stupid fucking prick in a BMW with the numberplate HI ROLLA (already makes him a tosser in my book to have a numberplate like that) comes and sits behind me RIGHT UP MY ARSE like I could just about turn and touch his bumper. I flashed my brake light and he still didn't get the message until I turned around and glared at him and made a thrusting motion with my hand to tell him to get the fuck off my tail.
He then pulls past me without indicating and I give him the bird, and so he winds down his window and does it back to me. Then changes lanes about 6-7 times, never indicating once and proceeds to tailgate someone else. By this stage I am fucking fuming so I ride up right behind him and sit right up his arse which is not something I would usually do, the whole time saying to myself how the fuck do you like it you prick. He obviously then got the message and swerved out of my way (AGAIN without indicating) and then seemed to drive sensibly from there on in.
Perhaps I over reacted a bit but FFS I'm only human and some people honestly deserve to be fucking shot sometimes. So arrogant and so self absorbed and so self righteous, thinking "How dare you be angry at me! I'M THE COOLEST GUY EVER!! I'M THE MAN!! I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT I'M JUST SO AWESOME COS I DRIVE A BMW!!"
That's probably the worst case of it I've ever had.

heres a little trick I got told by an old rider
He used to carry a few ball bearings in his pocket, if a tailgater didn't pay attention to his brake light he'd quitely drop one on the road
He used to joke that if he was ever pulled over by some one holding the ball he'd just look at his bike and go "Oh no where did it come from"

Had another episode the other night....
I was on the motorway heading north into central Auckland and some fuckwits in a boy racer car came up behind me and the group I was riding with. We were not speeding, nor were we going slow yet these cunts came right up behind us and turned their headlights on FULL to get us to move out of the way. The others I was with obliged but I just refused and continued to sit right in the middle of the lane with this fucking light in my eyes from their car.
They started tailgating me and trying to blind me as well but I just refused to budge - I refuse to be pushed around by scum like that. When they realised I wasn't going to move, they shot past me and jumped right into the left hand lane - and turned off. They could have been in that lane all along to make their turn but instead had to come and be complete pricks to me and the people I was riding with.
I feel angry just writing about it. Some people do not deserve a fucking drivers license.
