A motard version would be awesome to play around with, the bottom end & mid range are supposed to be beefed up significantly compared to the KX450F so having plenty of stomp straight off the bottom will be a ball:Punk: the KX can munt a tyre in zero time on tarseal :innocent:
They're early release next year in the states as a 08 model for roughly $4500US, don't know yet what they'll be here

I cant believe I'm saying this about a kawasaki, but thats actually quite good looking. When are they going to ditch that fking awful green tho?
Motard kit, hmm . . . would be nice if they also included quick release indicators, mirrors and number plate mounts in that.

LOL - yup, "greed" is ugly.
But the purple went so well with the green!

it's funny I was talking to a couple of guys in teh weekned and teh rear shock is shit apparently, and they said that team green is always behind everyone else in delevlopment. Spectrum is selling them with an aftermarket rear shock.

Think they're aiming at around the 60hr mark, but it depends on the rider though in reality.
Just like the KX450 & 250Fs we maintain for clients, we've had from 12hrs to 25hrs for rebuilds , but that's from straight-out competition bikes to farmers toys.
We're looking into the possibility of trying to get a couple from the states when they're released there.

i sold my 06 kx450f to my mate at 37 hours nothing done to it its now done 60+ hours had top end and valve clearence checked and still nothing done to it (trail ridden only ) so id be looking at 100+ hours before i touched that engine on the klx450 and btw kawasaki are behind other manufacturers? i dont see any other factory mx bike out yet with DLC forks from factory !!

Spectrum are only doing this as a marketing tool, also they are now in bed with Robert Taylor (NZ Ohlins distributor).
At the end of the day, an Ohlins setup to your specs is always going to be better than stock, no matter what brand you ride

an good set up ohlins is good, a bad set up ohlins is as bad as a bad set up stnadard shock, My biusness partner races one with std suspension with lighter springs (no valving) he is only 72kg so needs lighter spirngs, he won the waikato champs and wins mercer club days on it beating top 10 national riders,
i would say the suspension is as good as any other bike out thier

Absolutly agree, in fact ive got "standard" suspension on mine, just setup for my extra tyre (springs and valving both ends), i was just trying to make the point that the ohlins fitted "is" setup and the stock supension isnt.

Sorry I was only relaying what these other guys said. It's just always a long time coming on there bikes, the CRF450X has been out for ages and it's taken a while for tehm to move off the old KLX300's which are much like the DR's IMO. I like team green, it's just that the trail bikes seem to be second fiddle to MX to them.

Oh and the RM would look rangi as in black unless I got a new tank too. Yellow will do, easy for people to find me when I fall of my bike or get lost.......
