Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone could fill me in on the types of symptoms i'd be getting if my airfilter was pretty bad and really needed changing..

Had a few little niggly things going on and I was told a while ago it'd probably be heading towards needing doing, but I'd like to see if what's said matches what's happening.

take the seat off with your key in the helmet/rear lock

remove small side plastic panels with allen key

undo the two 10mm bolts at the base of the tank

reach underneath the fuel tap/petcock, MAKE SURE YOUR FUEL TAP IS SET TO EITHER ON OR RESERVE, SETTING IT TO PRIME WILL MAKE IT FLOW.

pull off the smaller vacuum hose from the bottom of the petcock

pull off the larger fuel hose from the side of the petcock, drain into yogurt container/drink bottle/ ice cream container etc.

there is one more hose connecting to the over flow hole at the top of the tank near the filler cap, remove it.

slid the tank down a bit and lift away, put it some where save and careful not to damage the petcock/tap

Ive been trying to find a K&N filter for ages to replace the stock one. Cant find one anywhere.

Airfilter should be cleaned at every service?

beats me, mine was perfect when I bought the bike.

when i had my old bike (honda vtz250) after replacing the air filter the power acceleration smoothness of power delivery etc all became better
