The first XBRR Buell arrived at work. This is their factory racebike, all carbon bodywork, 1340cc engine with at least 150 hp at the wheel.
This should liven up BEARS racing, maybe even give some of the Jappers a fright on the tighter tracks.

It sounds very interesting.
The Buell XBRR features a modified XB Thunderstorm 1339cc (103.6mm bore x 79.4mm stroke) air/oil-cooled V-Twin motor rated at 150-hp (measured at the crankshaft).
The long stroke will hold it back hence the the 8000rpm redline and 4167 fpm piston speed..still sounds like a weapon though.
Buell will produce 50 XBRR motorcycles with a short initial run in late February and the balance made in April. U.S. MSRP is $30,995.

Does that have the std motor, or the one that Eric modified for Formula extreme at Daytona.
To get around the "use the same barrels" reg, he melted down some barrels and recast new ones to the specs he wanted! The man sure thinks outside the square!

Now, now. I think you're getting a little greedy there BB. Maybe I better have it instead, yes I think that's what should happen!

I thought it was a mini moto at first. 150 at the back wheel is impressive.

It would be, but its actually 150 at the crank.
Sounds good though.

Our dyno guys are saying that Buell says it really makes that at the wheel. We'll know soon.

Thought it would have been belt driven, not chain.

That would be to change the gearing easier, wouldn't it?

Can belts handle that HUGE number of horsies?
I can't say I'm impressed by the stats: 150 (crank?) HP from a 1340cc engine, 167 dry weight despite lashings of CF goodness, and a US$31k price (NZ$45k?)
I can think of a number of bikes that look much better than that.

Cost is $45k. I can justify spending that much to the missus....**PM watches a pig fly past the window. mmmmm pig.
"designed exclusively for closed course competition". I wonder if they will bring out a road edition. Its pretty. Just another bike I will never own.

hey, i'd put my hand up too but after i trashed the back tyre of a buell on a run in job, ray (or was it bruce) wasn't keen for me to ride anything again.
best loaner racer i ever knew was Dave Moore of Chch. He was also the best dole bludger racer I ever knew.

Yep, loving it, very different machine. More of a brute than my usual rides....
But when it comes to muscle, these bikes take off with one hell of a rumbling thumping roar.
Love it :)

Around $NZ35,000 I'm told. Try and build a new Jap race bike with Ohlins, race brakes, carbon bodywork etc, for that
