View Full Version : Hamilton 250 ride 16/12/2006 (Learner Friendly)

Some of the regulars of the 250 themed ride from South Auckland were discussing possibilties for a the last 250 run of 2006. It was mentioned that it might be nice to meet some of the Hamilton 250 riders halfway.

This thread is started to see if there would be any interest from the Hamilton end - we would also need someone with some experience to agree to organise learner and less experienced riders and accompany them to somewhere halfway between Auckland and Hamilton.

We already have a route and destination if there is no interest but if there are people from Hamilton keen to meet up and get some good kilometres under their wheels simply post in here and I'll keep an eye on it.

Thanks.

Your better half is on her own 250 now isn't she? Could be a good wee opportunity for her to get some kms under her wheels.

That's the whole point - Our group leaves Auckland their group leaves Hamilton - we meet somewhere in the middle with good food/entertainment, talk bikes/shite, kick tyres, admire yellow 2 smokers etc. then fark off home having met some more KBers and expander our respective horizons a little....Oh I forgot...you're dressing in Red not Yellow that day...if you'd been skinny you would never have got the job

I'd be keen to get the electric mango out and about on Dec 16th.
Trying to book myself some training that morning, but if that falls through then a ride would be more fun.

there's a shortish learner-friendly ride tomorrow morning (Sunday 10/12/06) @ 10am at the Hamilton Motorcycle Club (opposite the Rugby Stadium on Seddon Road).. I would be going, but my carb to airbox hoses are leaky again, so I gotta sort that out after I go to sleep, then wake up..

I'll probably be keen to go on that two-fiddy ride on the 16th though

You sir, are a b'stard.

I have tentatively suggested to the organisers of said work function, that I may be unavailable. This causes me no concern, as I personally don't celebrate xmas.

There was mention of me having a leg broken if I don't show.

I figure if I can con them into breaking the right hand leg, then at least I can still change gears, just means I'd have to go easier on the braking...

...hmmm... tempting...

Provided the interest I would'nt mind organising those who were coming from outside of hamilton to meet some where in hamilton then heading up the line to meet the auckland crew.

Send me a PM if your keen and we can get the ball rolling, (as long as MCjim is comfortable with this arrangement.)

hmmm School's out...and there's a ride...W00ters! I be there fer shizzle! Pardon the astonishingly drop in grammatical particulars, and don't go there with the schlepping of slang/idiom/colloquial saying!

So where will I be? Riding!

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to the 'Tron we go!
Somewhere in the middle, neat to meet -
New learner riders, others older in the saddle
Makes no matter, all riding two wheels - so it's sweet!
Kick some tyres, drool over rides, chow down grub,
Then it's time to turn around,
And plan the next twofiddy outing club!

:woohoo:

We are not actually planning on going into Hamilton as we have heard its one of the roughest suburbs of auckland

Someone find me a 250 to ride!!

Hi there, thanks for the offers of support for this event - I think there's enough interest to make this a goer. The run is called a 250 run so that newer riders don't feel too daunted to turn up. We regularly have 600s 750s and Thou's turn up on the Auckland run - sometimes people want to ride at a scenic pace and are welcome to join us regardless of engine capacity :)

Reading the thread you seem to have a meeting point all organised so I'll PM you the destination and you guys can decide your route.

I've forgotten the name of the place we're going to again so I'll have to do it from home tonight coz that's where I wrote it down!

Cheers.
