Just come accross this and it seems like an awesome idea for an injected suzuki owner. Is it cool or a waste of time? http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.asp?id=81113200 I haven't included a link before so hope this worked out.

Very cool stuff. Wish I'd bothered to find out about this when I had my SV. The TEKA seems to be the shizzle.

Yep Motogb in Tauranga have a Yoshi box, Im gonna use it for my Racefit pipe. Word is the Racefit wants 5% extra at the highend to give a bit more power and stop it leaning out too much.
Its gonna cost $30 or so and a nice ride over the Bombay's :)

The Yoshi box is good for basic adjustments, I think you can adjust the fueling at 3 spots through the rev range (low, mid and high). It's no substitute for a PCIII, where you can tweak every 500rpm (I think) and a custom map, but it's a damn site cheaper, just don't expect everything to be spot on.

Bang on, they are a basic tool that will get the job done in 3 spots only. Low Mid High..

just went back and had a look at the one on trade me.........he hasnt listed what year bikes his will work on.....mine is very specific about this in the instuctions that came with it and as you can see on the carry case it lists bikes/years...............funny..i posted a thread up a while back offering this thing to people with listed bikes to have a play with but no takers...........

Sounds like a fun little tool. So can any one tell me is it worth tracking down one of these seeing that I have changed to the Yoshi pipes in the SV or is a power comander a better device or am I just better off not to worry about it at all.

Personally, I wouldn't let anybody that didn't specialise in fueling tweak with the fueling of my bike. And while it's a cool little tool, how often do you want to alter your fueling?
A PCIII will give you better results if set up properly on a dyno. You can download a variety of maps from the dynojet site, and while they may alter the fueling to vaguely suit your set up, it's not a map designed for your specific motor. It's not cheap though, well not over here anyway. A couple of hours of dyno time runs to £80 - £100 but it can make a hell of a difference to both your power output, and throttle response (smoothness). Add the price of your PCIII on to that and it's not a cheap mod.
Another benefit of the PCIII is that it doesn't alter your base ECU map, so if you want to return to standard, you just unplug the PCIII.

The answers you seek are all in the posts above my son......
- The PC is a far more complex "on the fly" adjuster with a lot more scope in what it can adjust.
- The Yoshi box is a simple off bike tools that adjusts the stock ECU, with not a huge range of adjustment, but could be built very cheaply
- It's worth doing if you think it's worth doing! Aren't we bikers mostly the type to tinker with our machines, whether it's look and feel or performance we're after?
There are a few other simple cheap mods you can do to an SV - look up "suzuki TRE mod", "suzuki airbox mod", "suzuki PAIR mod" ...... If you haven't looked at these already they might be good things to start with before a PC or similar

Thanks Allun & Fat Tony, yea it was just a thought, and looks like there are far more cheaper mods that I can mess around with, well untill the bank account recovers anyway :2thumbsup:

The yosh box is simple to use.......you cant stuff it up.To me anyway it was the most cost effective answer....As i change exhaust/header systems and muck about with the airbox i can piss around with the yosh box..plug and play as opposed to getting my bike to a dyno every time i change anything on it........agreed the pc111 is a great thing but doesnt suit my needs at all...as for altering your base ecu map....with the yosh box it easy..plug it in and return the ecu to its original settings....takes about 30 seconds.....then theres the added benefit of beer money from using it on your mates bikes.

The PC111 ia actually very easy to use, and a lot more adjustable than the Yoshi box
Plug in a lap top to your PC111, save the map that is in there, and play with the fuel mixture all the way through all throttle positions and any % you choose, so the Yoshi box is actually very old news and not that great

Agreed entirely.......................but for an old fart like me that doesnt really like computers and is quite happy to play around with 5-10 % adjustments it works just fine.........that together with my mistrust of PC2/3s after reading posts of them shitting themselves leaving guys with a bike that doesnt go...on an overseas forum....leaves me happy enough to play around with yoshimuras old news.....

Ha ha, was not rubbishing you or it mate, just telling it as it is, you should have a play with a PC111 and lap top some time though, it is as easy as what you are doing on the key board now! See you at Timaru? and I will show you
Heaps of fun, and you get to really play with power delivery and characturistics? of your bike
