    Yoshi injection mapper.

Just come accross this and it seems like an awesome idea for an injected suzuki owner. Is it cool or a waste of time? http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.asp?id=81113200 I haven't included a link before so hope this worked out.

Very cool stuff. Wish I'd bothered to find out about this when I had my SV. The TEKA seems to be the shizzle.

Yep Motogb in Tauranga have a Yoshi box, Im gonna use it for my Racefit pipe. Word is the Racefit wants 5% extra at the highend to give a bit more power and stop it leaning out too much.
Its gonna cost $30 or so and a nice ride over the Bombay's

The Yoshi box is good for basic adjustments, I think you can adjust the fueling at 3 spots through the rev range (low, mid and high). It's no substitute for a PCIII, where you can tweak every 500rpm (I think) and a custom map, but it's a damn site cheaper, just don't expect everything to be spot on.

Bang on, they are a basic tool that will get the job done in 3 spots only. Low Mid High..

Sounds like a fun little tool. So can any one tell me is it worth tracking down one of these seeing that I have changed to the Yoshi pipes in the SV or is a power comander a better device or am I just better off not to worry about it at all.

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

Personally, I wouldn't let anybody that didn't specialise in fueling tweak with the fueling of my bike. And while it's a cool little tool, how often do you want to alter your fueling?

A PCIII will give you better results if set up properly on a dyno. You can download a variety of maps from the dynojet site, and while they may alter the fueling to vaguely suit your set up, it's not a map designed for your specific motor. It's not cheap though, well not over here anyway. A couple of hours of dyno time runs to £80 - £100 but it can make a hell of a difference to both your power output, and throttle response (smoothness). Add the price of your PCIII on to that and it's not a cheap mod.

Another benefit of the PCIII is that it doesn't alter your base ECU map, so if you want to return to standard, you just unplug the PCIII.

The answers you seek are all in the posts above my son......

    - The PC is a far more complex "on the fly" adjuster with a lot more scope in what it can adjust.
    - The Yoshi box is a simple off bike tools that adjusts the stock ECU, with not a huge range of adjustment, but could be built very cheaply
    - It's worth doing if you think it's worth doing! Aren't we bikers mostly the type to tinker with our machines, whether it's look and feel or performance we're after?

There are a few other simple cheap mods you can do to an SV - look up "suzuki TRE mod", "suzuki airbox mod", "suzuki PAIR mod" ...... If you haven't looked at these already they might be good things to start with before a PC or similar
