School broke a wee while ago and I'm bored out off my wits. I even cleaned my rooms with out being prompted:gob:. So right now I'm for things to do until I go back to school and breeze through 6th form. I'm thinking teaching myself guitar, anyone else got any other suggestions... or books on how to learn guitar????

Go to a bookstore (i'd suggest whitcoulls but only because i know the stock range) and there are heaps of 'teach yourself' books. Have a look in the lifestyle section and you'll find heaps. There is a 'guitar bible' among other things... if you're over 16 they have kama sutra and all that too :gob: You could learn italian, french, spanish... maori?

If you're looking to progress into racing then 'twist of the wrist' is a good book to get your feet wet with.

There are loads of books on Photoshop, Database, Webdesign, digital photography, programming, the list goes on... just go and check it out.

Otherwise, assuming you are 15 or older (going into 6th form so you must be) why dont you get off your ass and find a job? That way you can save up for a bigger prettier fasterer sports bike for 7th form!

So find another one. Go swing a hammer for a builder somewhere... they could do with the help and I'll promise you the skills you pick up will serve you well later in life.

Right so you have cleaned up your room.... well done... I am impressed as will your mum be as well.

Thats a start...... Im sure we could all come up with some more jobs for you to do.....

Don't you have to like work or something? How do you get money to pay your rent or buy food? Or do you have really rich parents who don't mind you hanging around the house eroding their superannuation or post-retirement international travel plans?

Go and mow lawns for pensioners and wash their cars for free.

When I was your age (shit that sounds bloody crappy) I was never bored because we never had all this sex education you have got now!

It was my job (self appointed) to teach all those lovely young girls (probably your great grandma) all about the birds and the bees and my ten inch tongue etc etc etc!

So with all this modern education for this and education for that, here you are with nothing to do and you are bored in the holidays!

Get your fucking arse off the couch and go for a run or something or find some poor bastard that's not as lucky as you are and help them.

Is there a boxing gym near you? Go and punch one of the guys there and learn some self respect!

Nothing to do my arse. Get a life you lazy self satisfied little shit. Good luck. You are going to need it. John.

What kinda bike do you want? I not only couldn't fit on a 125 but I didn't want one. I bought a Nifty 50 (and sold it for the same price) when I was 15. I had a morning milk round, a paper round after school and a milk round after that. I also played representative sport. I didn't even have the time to think about boredom. I had $12k by the time I was 17 - and bought an almost new GSX750 & brand new leathers, boots, gloves, helmet. I coulda almost had the deposit for a house...

Fark man, make hay while the sun shines - you'll never be 15 again. Get your mates and do all the stupid things you want to do. You have all your life to work. You'll be entitled to a measley 160 hours of annual leave. And that sounds like a whole lot more than it really is. Make the most of it, it'll all be over before too long...

Start a project. I have started to re-build and paint up an old bass guitar.
Why don't you get your 125 looking fucking mint, then sell it for a profit to buy a decent bike?
As you said, learn to play an instrument, get a few mates to learn others, and start a band. It's surprising how little musical knowledge or talent is needed to start a half-good band. The Sex Pistols couldn't play their instruments, yet the revolutionised the world.
Go for a ride, or a drive.
Do something nice for the mrs.
Do your Christmas shopping.

There is a lot you can do, trust me. I'm 15, and haven't become bored these holidays. The only person who becomes bored, is a boring person.

I was going to suggest making a bomb, but didn't want the wrath of the safety nazis. Can't have kids getting outdoors, making things, being inventive and taking risks now.

All I know is that if I had the internet when I was young we would have had some mighty explosions instead of the inevitable cloud of smoke over the school reserve after a tightly packed bomb turned into a fizzer.......

Illegal ? ILLEGAL? Well, of course, if you're going to want LEGAL. You did say you were bored, so make up your mind, illegal or bored, choose one. Jeez, kids nowadays, the things they worry about.

But the Anarchists' Cookbook is overrated. Half the stuff in there doesn't work.

If you are anti-illegal then you'd be a major (ok, minor) hypocrite if you ever do 101kph. Against the law you know.

Most things are illegal because of the potential impact of hurting another person (financially, monetarily, physically or emotionally). If it's not going to hurt any one and you don't get caught then who cares.
