Great ride guys - thanks - enjoyed the paparoa road. Was neat to ride a bigger bike for a change - so easy to ride!

Enjoyed the trip back behind Wraith who decided in Wellsford that he was sick of going slow and needed a ciggy really bad in Orewa...woohoo!

Now back in the office...:zzzz:

Hope the rest of the ride goes well...

Three Pairs for the Jafa's under the skytower,
Seven for the Norf-Dwarfs in their halls they're stoned,
Nine for Southern Men doomed to be dry,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne

Thanks for the ride, both front and rear tyres now need replacing, did around 680 Kms so not bad for a trip for lunch.
Good to meet up with some new people, nice ride back with Buggie and V-Twin Raver and met up with Speedie just out of Wellsford. Excellent conditions for riding up there and well worth the trip.

That'll be the last Norfland ride for a while for me so it was important to have a goodun...mission accomplished
Hope y'all had fun!

Great ride guys, thanks for organising it and showing us your patch there Chris. Gotta love that forest road. Got home totally buggerred - 680km later - big day for sure. Cheers to Ray, Kit (and Glenn from Wellsford) for the company on the return leg. See you all out there again soon. Chris - look forward to seeing you out on the loop!!

Thanks guyz.
As Andrew mentioned to me yesterday - this forum aint the same if you cant put names to faces.

I totalled 784klms for the day. Was at work before we met and then caught up with the whanau at Piha. Sorry I didnt stop SixPack but dinner had finished and I at least had to get my ass in front of the wife to do the dishes and put the kids into bed. Those riding on borrowed domestic time will understand.

Highlights of the day for me had to be:
1. Sitting behind the BusaPetes and admiring some serious 2 up skill
2. Knowing that there was no chance that the group would get lost as all we had to do was watch out for long strips of Corsa and Strada rubber left by the locals.

Lows
1. DMNTD (aka DUMPTY, DUMTD, Cheeky SOB) - who was obviously bored with the pace of the fast group - deciding that he would indicate to riders behind what turns were coming up next. Such a reafirming and confidence insipiring moment for those following.

Great to see you Chris. Thanks for being such a gracious host and guide through Hazard. The roads are truly some of the best I've been on. And please pass on my best to Gervin who did a wonderful job of giving you the learn.

Agreed - Bluey really enjoyed seeing the ass end of another Ninja. And about Gervi...who then was that guy on the Italian jobby smoking his ciggy when we arrived at that petrol station with the nice service attendant?

I am in the shithouse. The one time I take a holiday for the year and apprently I am either on the bike, in the garage or on this forum. Life is good.

Will let you know when I go down to do the Cape.
Have Gervi come down too! He'll love it! :dodge:

Awesome ride, bloody shagged by the end of the day! On the plus side no more chicken strips on my rear, so Im stoaked with that. Didnt have any close calls on any corners which also was a good thing.

I feel like Im just starting to master my beast.

Must do that route again. On the way back we turned right and went across the bridge at Dargiville. Some nice straights to really open it up.

Perfect weather, riding and company!!!

Yup, Gonna focus on some pillioning and hopefully I'll feel confident enough to bring chucky down with me... if all else fails I'll organise a ride and I'm sure someone will be happy to take her pillion :)

Thanks for the tips, hospitality and the sink... chucky apppreciates that :)

Yeah the ride itself was great... not that I did the whole ride... The back road to Paparoa (thats it right?) following Chris had me being a bit of a nana, I thought I had done semi alright until we got there and I got the comment "Havn't ever riden that road so slow before" lol

But the rest of the ride out to Sharkys was great, had a stretch of about 3 corners (lol) following Keystone... very nice lines, until she took off and left me in the dust :)

Had a blast riding back to Whangarei on my own from Sharkys, No cops, open roads... can't complain...

Also not too bad a trip considering its the first time I rode up that far. Only did 582km's all up for the trip...
