We were bored today and decided to buy Guitar Hero 2. The hubby is fairly decent at it already, but I'm buggered if I can get it, even at slow speeds I just can not get the co-ordination right (I always knew I was un-co, but shit, this is just ridiculous!).
Anyone else have this at home or tried it, and how do you get on? I'm definately no hero, I'm a zero.

Yep, we were bored shitless! I love Singstar, but the hubby won't play with me because he can't sing, so we thought this might be a happy compromise!
I can see it'll be quite fun, but it keeps making funny noises at me 'cause I can't hit the notes! Doesn't help when the hubby sits next to me just killing himself and then that starts me laughing too! Bastard, I wanna be a Hero too!:Punk:

I had a play in a shop once, too.. Was really good fun, but the cops were called, and I was charged with indecent exposure.. I still believe that you should try before you buy..
but anyway..

I LOVE Guitar Hero! Have now lost interest in the first one because I can't pass bloody Crossroads by Cream  It almost makes me a REAL rock star cause I wanna smash the damn thing!
I'm now hooked on playing Guitar Hero II because it's got the songs I like, such as Sweet Child o' Mine and Heart Shaped Box  The second one is definitely harder than the first one - I passed everything first time on Medium level, but some of them are damn fast.

This is very very addictive including watching the wife playing, yes I am almost rolling on the ground with laughter
I have only played on 'easy' so far. Had a look at 'expert' and don't think I will ever get to that level. Can't wait to unlock the next songs.
This really is a great game.

Would be interesting to see how well a real guitar player does at this game.
Hey Slash, when are you getting a playstation? lol

Lol I thought the same when I started playing it! Now I'm on expert mode and getting frustrated watching the family play on easy!
The coordination takes awhile, but once you build the strength in your fingers (especially on Medium where you need your little finger), you'll be away laughing!

Maybe that's what my problem is, my weak widdle girly fingers.
I was thinking of taking up the violin when I was a bit younger, glad I didn't, I'd have no mates! Think I was on the right track with wanting to learn the bag pipes, a whole lot of hot air required, that's me!

Do they do "Drum Hero" too? Now that I'd like to see people do... lol, I wondered the same thing myself! Then someone pointed out that it would need too many pieces so it's unlikely they'd make it
I wonder how long it will be before you can buy it for a particular period, e.g. Guitar Hero 80's Edition etc.

is it just me, or does everyone feel compelled to say; 'And this week on Top Gear...' during the rendition of 'Jessica'?

If you really want to know, it's crap. Nothing like the real thing.
But then again, nor is MotoGP3.
If you want to play a guitar, play a guitar. I have four to choose from, lucky me.
If you want entertainment, its great. But its no simulator.

Yep! same thing happens when I hear Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain". I keep expecting Murray Walker to start getting excited about another boring processional (F1) motor race. (With apologies if any Kiwi's haven't the first clue as to who or what I'm talking about!)

Never tried it myself - vey unco, am I.. but at a party that hXc played at they had that.
hXc beat the lead guitarist and the rythym guitarist... not bad for a drummer!!

lol didn't say it was. I was only wondering what people that actually play the guitar think of the game.
The game guitar only has what 5-6 buttons for the notes? Compared to how many frets and how many strings to make up how many chords or single notes? Then add in all the little things that make listening to a guitar solo so fun like bending the strings and such.

Yeah I'm sure it isn't meant to be used as a leaning tool or a substitute, but merely just for shits and giggles like. It is teaching me something about coordination and timing though (and patience  ).

No idea what the song is, but that song is obviously on Expert mode. I've just started that level and Jesus, it's difficult alright! I was relieved to see even the video didn't get 100 percent.
Thas a very amp'd up version of 'Rainbow Conncetion' by Kermit T Frog!!....:Punk:
