Well the wiring melt-down was just a localised event. No damage to the loom thankfully.
So trip to SuperCheap for a new connector, some head-shrink and solder and its all up and running again :)
Two wiring faults in a month that potentially/ and did leave me stranded. My bike is wearing our. Might start carring a light tester with me :msn-wink: for the adventures north over the holidays. Could save some grief :sweatdrop

Oddly, yea. The 9 felt twitchy as hell out on the open road. Any small movement from my shoulders down my arms was amplified. Steering Damper would sort that out though so no real biggie. And it felt alot smaller for some reason.

So much excitement in one night.
Great trip to nice place where HN Ulysses was also having an outing.
The trip back was er.. eventful. Man with flashing lights was tripping on a mixture of Power and Paranoia.
Slide car sideways into the side of the road except I had already stopped 20 metres away, but I can well imagine his intention.
Hand was quivering over the pepper spray in this belt clip.
Made a mistake by producing phone camera and leaning inside the car to take a snap of the qismo on the dash with red numbers. It was his personal space and I hadnt asked.
The words "arrest" and "down to the station" were mentioned several times. ........................ It seemed an opportune time to yes sir/no sir him so Happy ending..
I think perhaps he was lonely and just wanted to talk to someone, who knows

It looks like a good night for a ride.
Anyone else think so?
Yes good night for a ride for sure.
The last leg at 9 was rather cool with headache inducing coldness !!
Good thing the distance wasnt far.

Not a bad outing, 2 hours worth with stop. No rain just patches of wet road.
The new sealed bit on the waingaro loop has a bit of subsidence.
Tis a few dips that needs respect now.

Pool hussler!! They may not let you back in. Have to play doubles next time so you can still fit your helmet on when we go to leave :)
I slowed down cause it was the social thing to do... and also worried about the candle at the front of your bike giving you enough light. When are you going to put some spots on.

Doesn't matter how many lights I fit - my eyes don't see that well at night anyway.

last night was good - a bit wet out thru to Pirongia, but the roads dried up south of there, shot thru Te Kawa to Cambridge, RPM for a drink, then Kaipaki road home.
Only three of us VFR750, bandit 1200 and FZR250 - most places we just cruised about 110
Only one dissapointment was the demerit points issued 5 minutes from home for one of us.

Yep, but doesn't sound as good. But honestly she shouldn't of pulled out accross the front of us. Actually it was probably your bike she locked on to for the 114 as we came around that bend

It's a borrow. Goes back on the weekend. I like it though. Would definitely cough up dollars for the F version.

cool bikes eh...
forgiving, punchy, agile, and a good allrounder.
if ya get good you can deck it out on the road!
my old one still goes too!

26th September 2008, 20:14
Yeah they are a good bike. Quite an around town hooligan bike. The motor would pull from anywhere and had a nice punch up top. I think the bars were aftermarket though cos they were Ventura's and looked lower than I've seen on other ER's.
If I had one I'd definitely end up throw some money at suspension. There's not much wrong with what it's got, but once you've ridden something with really good suspension any standard stuff feels so wrong.
