Just got the latest AMCN magazine, and it's got an article on Yamaha's new V-Max concept bike which will be available outside Japan. What's new? A larger 1800cc v-4 with around 200hp, a new custom 200 section rear wheel, six-pot calipers, and double-trumpet short mufflers. Here's what it looks like, (scanned from the magazine):

Sigh.
Good old MCN, eh. Still spewing random shit about vapourware bikes that they cook up in Photoshop.
Anyone else heard about the time uk.rec.motorcycles suspected that most of the 'hot news' in MCN was actually cribbed from posts on the group?
They tested it by having an excited (fake) discussion about some new model or other that didn't exist.
Sure enough, there was a 'breaking news' sidebar in next month's issue.

Actually Fish, that's almost true. Yamaha have been running that design around for a while now and had a mock up at the Japanese auto show either last year or the year before I believe. Only thing different to what I've heard is the 1800cc bit.
According to Yamaha they originally planned for a 2000cc but they may have stepped back from that. Rumors from Japan and even local bike shops says 2008 is most likely the release.
Personally I hope they get rid of that lower oil cooler. Looks shit and I can see it getting knocked about when landing wheelies.

I know about all that.
The point I'm making is that MCN have a history of taking the bare facts and then dressing them up with random predictive shit to fill pages.

Except this is AMCN, vastly more reliable than MCN. The Green Horror has been around a couple of decades longer than MCN too.

If it is produced, first one in the country I'll be one of the first inline for a test ride. Allready know I'm gonna buy one just have to decide if I'll trade my current one in for it.
