Local guy had one. He liked it. Low seating if you are short in the leg. Tuned different to the usual Suzuki TL 1000. More low & mid range power. Nice sound. Interesting /different looking machine. Naked so little wind protection. On the plus side any Suzuki agent could work on the engine. Cheers

TL1000 motor is awsome............ive done 40000kms on mine with no problems at all,ton of grunt and alot of fun.........i like the look of the cagiva...little different,i beg to differ with the post above as a stock v-raptor uses a detuned version of the TL1000 motor, peak horsepower was 110 at approx 9500 rpm, would be a good candidate for a set of TLR pistons and cams.:Punk:

Funny you should say that - coincidentally the Cagiva Raptor 650 has got a SV650 engine in it but the Cagiva Raptor 1000 has a TL1000 engine in it.

thats a x raptor:yes: Its a much modded x-raptor.......very nice.........but in my opinion the raptor in stock form is also very nice..........with endless modding possibilities, have been down the Ducati road and as ok as they are i wouldnt bother going back, unless it was an old bevel drive SS.

The city sucks! The hills around here are pretty good but you get tired of it eventually. A bit like doing the Oparara Block a few too many times. At least it's all sealed nowadays, not mostly gravel like it was not so long ago. But the Karamea Bluff, now there's a road to be savoured! My comments about your being of a "funny lot"...I'm quite qualified to judge cos I'm one of that "funny lot" myself. Born and bred...now a one-eyed cantab but still got the webbed feet and immune to sandflies:-) BTW I like your taste in bikes my friend!

heres the story the Raptor is a "brand new old model" the model change was in 05 so this bike has sat around somewhere for a few years it could be as old as 2000 that doesnt worry me to much as long as its cheap enough and its $12000 i dont know how much a 07 model is but the big problem is that as soon as its got 1 km on it ist a low k older bike not a low k one year old bike ...whats it worth ....fucked if i know.....i need a more upright riding position as i have had carpel tunnel surgery on both wrists and to much pressure on my wrists/hands gets a bit uncomfortable.

Offer em $10 and go from there............if uncomfortable real easy to put higher bars on............if you can get it between 10 and 12 its gotta be a good buy for a new bike, you can buy an SV for not much more but everybody else has one........go for it.

a 07 bandit is $12000 at the moment Mate you either want a V-twin or you dont..........as great a bike as the bandit is i find them as exciting as a wet flannel.......for me the raptor sounds like a sweet deal.........but then i just love V-twins......got a mate with a bandit which he loves but everytime he gets pissed he rabbits on about how sweet the TLs sounds as it goes past..........dont be to bothered about the age.......in the latest bike trader theres a couple of 2003 SVs for $500 cheaper than a 97 and 99 TLS....................

Yep the city sure does suck. I left home for the big smoke in 1994 so that's why I couldn't work out who your are. Hopefully be over there for a lightning trip in a few weekends time so if you see a blue SV650 go past your house it's me. Looks like your place is just past Maori Point heading towards the bridge? I'll give you a wave as I cruise past.
Just to stay on topic...I reckon the Raptor looks awesome. Not a huge fan of the 650 but the 1000 models look awesome.
PS Harleys in Karamea? Used to be mostly mudbugs and AG200's!

If you're gonna buy a Raptor, get the Xtra Raptor 1000. I think earlier models were also known as the V-Raptor.
