Greetings from Queensland Gold Coast Australia.

Hey all my name is Peter, i was doing a search under Vmoto and came across this site.
So i'd thought i'd join and say hi.
I am new to the bike/scooter scene.
I sold my Supercharged 4AGZE corolla , and a bought a scooter to get to the train. i havnt ridden a bike for a while so i thought id start at the bottom LOL.

Scooter : Vmoto Monza 49.cc 06 model Stealth in colour (matt Black)

Mods : $1200, worth, Giannelli exhaust , variator kit, etc

Top speed depending on weight 105klm, i am 76kg

It has no problems doing 80klm all day long.

Low profile tyres , red rims.

It was cheap second hand and had done 4700k's. when i got it.

I know some people say they have a bad name (chinese scooters)Vmoto etc, but i am happy with it and everything seems in order, so really thats all that matters.

I understand, Mr Wop, that the world record for a 50cc is circa 160kph.

However in this case it is most probably the usual scooter speedo optimism

Unless the numbers are transposed, and it does 76kph with a 105kg rider on it...

100+km/h is not seen on many 50cc scooters. Reason - restrictive parts (eg, 15mm carb, 10mm peashooter.) I'd imagine $400 worth of performance parts will fix that. BTW. If your scooter is 90+ capable do NOT use the standard wheel size lol ... scooter wheels are too thin to support those speeds.
I know this from pushing my current hyosung down a very long very straight very steep hill... The speedo is 0-70 with a perfect half circle. the needle was pointing straight down... (ie, i was doing 105)... prolly the first time in my life i felt like shitting myself - scoot was far 2 wobbly at that speed..

Infact when my new mini chopper comes up i will be looking to achieve 100km/h on flat ground with a couple things on my shopping list...

denso iridium plug iwf22
performance ignition coil
walbro 22mm carb
15 tooth drive sprocket (14T stock)
39 or 40 tooth wheel sprocket (38T stock)
some sort of custom cdi unit with ignition timing variables & presets

RE 1 Hey Mate dispite what people say their is nothing wrong with Vmoto i had a monaco 125cc i first got it in 2005 annd sold it at the start of 2006 in that time i clocked up over 15000 kms most of them were trashing it flat on the the open road i thrashed it up to kaikoura wihch is about 180 kms from christchurch (where i live) twice that road includes really steep hills and stuff and it jumped up and kept coming back for more it always started first time run smooth as it wasent fast but hey it diddn't use any fuel now its in Welling still running like new they are BULLET PROOF you cant go wrong with them. :-)

My sister has a vmoto and rides it everywhere in Wellington, she loves it and has not had any problems with it. Every second scooter here in Palmie seems to be a Vmoto - they must be doing something right ( as opposed to the Aussie cricket team - oops sorry ):dodge:

welcome by the way

I

WTF? Speak for yourself. My scooter is capable of 90+MPH, and the wheels on it are perfectly capable of supporting those speeds.

Not wobbled off yet.. and it regularly used to do 100mph down the back straight at Cadwell Park.

Try not to judge everyone's scooters and abilities by your own standards.

Yeah ofcourse, I don't mean to say that *all* scooter wheels are skinny but most are...

yes but what sort do you have that does 100MPH+
I would love to see it, as well as a dyno run to see what power you have at the rear wheel.

Dave Lobster
23rd February 2007, 12:45
Last time it was dynod it had 27hp at the wheel. Its had a rebuild and the ports tidied up since then.
Just needs the frame finishing, and it'll be ready to go. Spare engine and frame need selling to fund that though.

ICE180
25th February 2007, 19:21
man that must be some serious porting etc but 27 hp nice

MisterD

Looks like Auckland has a new most powerful scooter....who's gonna tell Steve?

Dave Lobster
26th February 2007, 11:24
It wont be going on the road. Too noisy and no kick start.
Its not that seriously ported. Just put together nicely.

MisterD
26th February 2007, 12:27
So what's the spare engine then?

Dave Lobster
26th February 2007, 12:46
Stage 5 Ralph Saxelby 185. I know nothing about whats in it. I bought it complete, to use the top end as a spare for my road bike. But.. I've got a couple of spare oversize pistons for that now, so wont need it. And.. three Lambrettas is one too many.
I'm assured its got a Li box in it, and that its had all new bearings (etc). Other than that, no idea.. I've never ran it.

185cc.............. that would be why it's perfectly capable of 100km/h+
I thought we were talking <50cc in this thread.....

:scooter: The first post says 49cc and 105km/h :scooter:

My cruiser has same size engine as my scooter except the cruiser has a pod filter and jets tuned to suit as well as dual expansion chamber tail pipes..
the scooter has a stock exhaust (muffler / peashooter,) stock jets, cold air box with aftermarket air filter element

In comparison even with the stock restrictive parts removed/replaced on a 50cc it will haul ass compared to other 50ccs but 100km+ is still just barely out of reach without forced induction.. possibly a larger carburettor would get it up there but that would still be right at the end of the powerband in final drive

Dave Lobster
27th February 2007, 07:05
A 50cc cruiser? Where are you going to cruise to with that? Pak n save?

The restriction is the sewing machine engine, not all the parts in it. :whocares:

Boy, do you have a lot to learn about the way KB works....you mentioned the capability of scoots to go quick on 10" wheels, it's called a tangent and we're off on it.

BTW my Imola motor (186cc, reed valves, 28mm mikuni) gives me 70mph and I don't run a chamber - yet. 13.5hp at the wheel.

Only you would do that. You'd probably buy a couple bags of groceries before realising that there's no storage. :slap:

the scooter fits a 12pack under the seat and another 12pack if i put the rear tray on. the cruiser fits no packs... i don't really want anymore than 6 beers on my back.

2doz under the seat and 2doz on the pillion spot with a cargo net.

My cruiser has just been run-in at 450km so I installed a denso iridium iuf24 plug this is my first little mod so far, I just maxed it out last night and I got -
1st gear: 35kph
2nd gear: 55kph
3rd gear: 65kph
4th gear: 85kph

It hauls scooter ass, A 90cc mini-chopper gave me a good run today we were fairly close he had a tiny bit more acceleration than me
