.Yesterday was not bad weather indeed, once the early grey skies had cleared. Headed into Caltex Rimutaka at 9.35am to see Bugsplat and Marcus ready to hit the road (as it were).

Jim2: Paul (CBR) was there waiting for you too. I hear a large feline is in the wings......

Heaps of guys (and guyesses) out on the road. We only went to Martinborough as we met up with some old-timers (like us!) and spent a coule of hours at the Fish (just for a change) reminisicing about racing and the old days (Bugsplat: sorry if we bored you!) One of my mates turned up with one of his mates, on an RE5!!! He's had it since 1987 - it's in pretty good nick. I haven't seen one of those for YEARS!!

Back up the hill, met up with Deano and Hayden (among many others).

Jim2: saw you, Mooch, Paul, mangell6 et al heading back home.

A good day for me - hope it was for everyone else too. :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Gidday Lynda,

Did you have any trouble finishing off my condiments .... is that the right word?

Sorry I had to run but you know what it's like in the 'running-in' period......

I was wondering if you could remind me where you got your gossamer (tank)protection from again.....I wasn't listening properly when you were explaining the web details to me at the top of the Hill.....I think I might have been distracted by the Red Hot Chilli peppers growing on the side of your helmet ?

Thanks
Grant.

Hi Grant.

Was that you I passed on the Porirua motorway today?

And then caught up again with at the start to Haywards and followed you over the hill?

If it was, I meant it when I gave you the thumbs up. Tasty bike that new Kwaka....

Hmmm... Or was that you and your mate at the top of the Rimutakas on Sat when me and one of my mates rode just in front of you guys back towards Welly? If it was - nice wheelie! Oh for something bigger than a 250!

Oh no sorry - just remembered - that was a Z1000. Must've been someone else. Still a pretty nice toy though!

Hi Velox. If the Z1000 was orange, it would have been Russ.

If it was black, it would have been Ken (most likely Ken if he pulled a wheelie, Russ doesn't do them that often)

Lynda,

Thanks for the welcome !...... I have just ordered some slapper material for the tank (at your recommendation, of course) .. thanks for the web address.

Have a good trip home next weekend...hope the weather holds up for you...might see Hamish up the hill then ?

Celticno6,

Gidday, unfortunately not..... biking mid week... I wish. By the sound of it you may have seen a green one going your way yesterday....... my ZX is black but that would be my normal route most weekends.

Cheers all
Grant

Oh yep - must've been Ken then. You sound like you've got all the Wgtn bikers sorted Lynda! I can just see you sitting at the computer each night, secretly updating your excell spreadsheets of who's got a new bike, who's traded theirs in, who's got new dice-shaped valve caps, etc, etc!!! :shifty:
