Small slicks

Hi,

Can someone point me in the direction of a place in auckland to buy slicks in smaller sizes (new or used)?
Looking for 110/70/17 and 140-150/60/18.

My mate got an NSR250 (MC18) race bike for trackdays, but the front slick is a bit knackered and needs to be replaced. Maybe some used GPR70s or Supercorsas or something would do the trick instead?

Cycle Treads (Nth Shore) do Motard slicks of about those sizes.
I'd be very surprised if Chris Haldane (Penrose) couldn't sort you out too.

Shinko advertise smaller slicks in Motorcycle Trader.
Shinko bought Yokohama (lots of us used to race on Yokohamas)
From what I've read, they are much better tyres now than when the Koreans 1st bought them.
The importer is Whites in Hamilton, call them and ask who sells them in your area

try haldanes, they've never not had the tyre i've been after, no matter what size it was...

I think you'll find 18 inch rear slicks pretty hard to find and if you can they'll be several years old, most guys convert to 17 inch rear for easier availibilty

Seriously thou, my CBR took the same size and i got those from cycletreads

I think bridgestone are also bringing out some new ones but they dont arraive for another 3 weeks.

Cycletreads are the way to go thou :)

Oh yep, Dunlop GPRalpha10s road legal tyres. They come in a variety of smaller 18inch sizes. More $ than the used slicks he was after, but should last (relatively) ages.

Yep, that's them. It would be interesting to read any advertising to see what has changed compared to the 70s.

Got the new alpha10s on my CBR250 (in 110/70/17, 140/60/17), so far all good. Warm quick, turn quick, surprisingly good in the rain. I'm sure they'll be good on the track, haven't had them long enough to see how long they'll last.
