I have been looking to get back onto two wheels again and have narrowed it down to these two.
Any reviews any one can share on either of these bikes will be appreciated.

M50 beats the VT750 hands down, in all areas of performance. This is an observation from riding both.
Reviews are easy to come by.

After about two days you will be sick of the Shadow's lack of vroom. The extra 50cc that the Suzuki has makes a big difference. As does its lack of spokes.

I did read that the Shadow lack vroom on the open road. And not keen on cleaning too many spokes.

Take the new Vulcan 900 out for a fang as well. The custom model, without spokes...

Agree! However the Honda and the M50 are really two completely different bikes and serve two different roles. For performance the M50 hands down, no contest, the Honda is a relaxed cruiser.

Yeah I reckon the suzuki is the way to go, very nice ride those M50's
If you want performance - M50 (RRP is $12,995)
If you want good looks and you ain't in a hurry - VT750 (RRP is $11,495)
As for the Kawasaki 900 - Don't know much about it except RRP is $13,750

I'm with Hitcher on this one. Don't make the final decision until you check out the Kawasaki VN900. It's been getting rave reviews. I personally prefer the Classic.

Yep, check out the VN900 before deciding.
The Custom and the Classic are two completely different style of bikes. Reviews and Specs below:

Have you decided on one Yet?
80% of people that have riden both the Shadow and the M50 come back to buy the Suzuki.
The other 20% were just tyre kickers...
We have some Blue new 2006 M50 stock at a reduced price if you like.

Not interested in the Shadow after reading reviews. Great bike the shadow, but not for me. Looking at the the Suzuki 07 model 4 next month when i get my driveway finished so I can garage the bike.

Been offered the "07 Kawasaki 900" for $13,000. It get a good review, but there aren't any Kawasaki VN900 or the M50 in Wellington to test ride.

I had this problem when i went shopping for a bike too, Suzuki seemed to think I would buy on looks alone (WRONG):bye: . when i pushed the point they offered up an old intruder & said if I liked it I could buy the new M50 based on the intruder. Honda (cyclespot) were way more helpful with a demo vtx 1300 & cb1300 available.. I brought the cb1300 & love it , the pricing was close to the M50 & other bikes I looked at . when you consider the M50 is around $13k & the cb was $13.5k . 500 cc more for sensibly the same price the cb was too hard to pass up. The cb now has 21,000 k on it ( in 7 months) & is proving to be an excellent all round performer.

I don't know why dealers in a region don't pool their resources for test ride bikes. If it's the difference between making a sale or not, surely it's worth considering?
