OF Gloves N stuff

I was in The Big red shop (The Warehouse)on saturday and I spotted some driving /winter gloves
They are definitely leather and seem to be good quality. They are lined and seem to fit well.
The best thing is the price $10.00
I wouldn't want to venture on the track with a pair on But at that price theyre a heap better than no gloves at all.
I bought a pair and tried a lil destruction test on em- Digging a 6.0m trench in my lawn. They held up to that pretty well

I found them today and got a pair for the g/f. I think I'll buy myself a pair for town riding, and keep those beauties you got me for long hauls.

Speaking of fingerless gloves, I wear them 'round town a lot 'cos I don't need to takie them off every time I go into a shop etc and need to take my helmet off, open my shoulder bag etc ( and they look cool eh!)
Has anybody arsed off wearing them (at low speed) and how did thier hands/fingers fare? - baring in mind I don't have the full quota of finger-tips to worry about!! :eek:

You'd think open-finger glubs would be a hell of a lot better than nuffin if you came off at low speed. One tends to automatically break falls with the heel of the hand; I'd say there'd be a good chance of getting away with intact fingers.

But I'm still going to wear proper ones, just in case. I remember the intense discomfort after I tripped while running, landed on my hands and gave them a grating. That wouldn't have been more than 15kph.

The best cheap,warm,strong,glove comes from any protector safty shop.
Their black with thinsulate lineing.they are based on riggers gloves and LAST.
I bought two pairs and I'm still useing number one pair after about six years.
They cost $15.
I've worn them in real cold weather with an extra silk linner and never really been cold.As for fingerless gloves,good for rolling smokes an such but to scary for me.

I might go and check them out when in town next, I've finally educated/nagged my boy into wearing gloves while out on his bike, but even though he has a great leather jacket he only wears it on longer trips out on his bike, why he thinks he's only in danger on state highways is beyond me.

I posted the question 'bout fingerless glubs because MiddleSon wanted some. He drove us to Papamoa the other weekend and kept having to wipe his hands on his trou as he was sweating so much.

Didn't see any VTRs when I was there.
