I did my part in reducing the mozzie and a general bug population on my way back from DMNTD's place on Saturday and here's the pic...not a bad effort I thought. Anyone out there with pics to beat it?

No pics cos cleaned mine as soon as I got home last night, but was on a par with yours. Amazing how many of the little critters there were out there last night!

High speed at night in the sticks is the best way to get bugged.

Hat to clean some bird blood off my helmet last weekend :shit:

I would say mine's worse but it's in pieces on the road near taumarnui, now in police custody so can't take pictures... but I did once have a juicy bug smeared across a quarter of the visor... had to stop and clean it before I could go any more because half the road looked yellowish and it was too annoying....

Off topic slightly but I remember a few years back BMW ran nation-wide full page ad's advertising new technology that 'bounced' bugs off the windsheild. They said it could retro-fitted to earlier models. Apparently they received hundeds of calls about it. Pity no one noticed the date of the papers it was advertised in, April the 1st. They do similar things most April Fools days.

I just figured all the bugs had followed DMNTD down. They all seem to have face seeking auto pilot...either that or my empty cranial cavity is creating a vacuum to suck them all in towards my head

I didnt want to be his date....and c. that gammy leg hanging off his bike scares me (not that I'd see it long enough before he dissapeared off into the distance)

So you are a DJ BJ?.....are you sure you didnt copy and paste those bugs off Chris's lid?...cos his always looks like it needs a water blast. Ya know how Bikers say....'fuck did ya see that swam of bugs'...well when the the bugs get to where they are going, they say...'Fuck did ya see that ZX10'!!..:scooter:

Was a dj....got out of it a few months back but filling in for a couple of nights this month for extra chingies...and provision for extra excuses for the excessive embibing of el groggo.:apint:

I didnt check his helmet...but his bikes clean enough to eat yer tea off...I turned up to his on sat with me bike looking a little shabby. He and Annette gave me a large bollock kick for the state of it, followed by the extraction of enough cleaning gear to clean a large battleship and me watching them attack me filthy vitter with the same vigour a catholic priest goes at a choir boy...mental note, throw a bit of dust on bike just before getting to their place next time, it works a treat to get the bike washed.

So....you are telling me that...the 'said couple' cleaned your bike for you? am i correct in my assumtion?....and if this be thy truth, thou shall let no man speakth wrong of thee who live by Bethleham (fuck i sound like that priest you speak of)....:killingme

Beat This! 10am, just outside of Taihape.

I rode for half an hour like that, and was wondering why it had gone so dark.

Did a ride from Wellington to Stokes a few weeks back at around 9pm.
On arriving at home I spent the next 5 minutes picking dead and dying beetles off my gear :dodge:

Also the fattest and juiciest moth I've even seen had face planted into the centre of my headlight.

Indeed they did...wouldnt let me near it in case I dirtied it again...I'm surprised they let me ride away on it! They gave me the "a bike is for life, not just for chrstmas" look and I promised to up the tlc effort, otherwise I'm certain I would have lost me bike. :chase:

Not a bad effort, but I think you need to diversify a bit. A smattering of damselflies, a wasp, a bumblebee, possibly a butterfly or a moth or two, and a couple of cicadas would round the collection off nicely.

There's some beauties on there mate. I especially love the ones rammed into the vents, how many of the blighters make in into the helmet??? A good effort...the engineering side of me starts to come out now thinking of some way we can grid the visor to take an average for some form of rating system. :spudbn:

 That effort was after 3 seperate cleans on the way to Nelson  last clean-up was at Springs Junction  What ever the sod in the middle was it spread like oil before setting

Worst I've struck was what I think was a Hu Hu (sp?) beetle late at night  when it hit it sound like a .22 shot in side my helmet & spread like an egg over the visor  emergency stop to clean the mess up

lols a rating system  coverage/density/composition
