No, but let me know if you find any. We have Germans here quite often and I'd love to be able to have a little bit of a chat with them in their own language. I bought a CD but haven't used it yet - oops!

Try your local high school/college as they all seem to run community courses of an evening. Failing that, your local polytech would be a good starting point.

Try the Goethe Institut:
http://www.goethe.de/ins/nz/wel/enindex.htm
I took night classes there before a stint in Austria - recommended.
LEO online English<>German dictionary is quite useful:

I learnt some German at school and brushed up before going on me OE, it was actually bloody useful on the continent. If we couldnt find someone who spoke English there was occasionally someone who spoke German...
Sprechen Sie Deutsch?
Anyway this chick I was travelling with ... who was blonde incidentally .... asked me one day why I kept asking people if they spoke Dutch?

German is easy. Fill your mouth with potatoes, and speak normally.

Very similar to Welsh, but instead of potatoes, use Phlegm.

I find it helps your pronunciation if you remember to be angry all the time.
...nothing says 'I love you' with tender feeling like a teutonic German shouting:
"ICH LIEBE DICH!!! DU KANST MICH MAL!"

How much cause is there for the phrase "We're all going to drown!" used in conversational German?
German: "Guten morgen Herr Krayy."
Me: "Arrrgghhh....Ze depth charges ist maken mit ze boom-boom!"
