I've just taken off the fairings on my bike....and I think it looks quite hot...
Should I leave them off, make a few mods and make it a street fighter style....
Or...
Put the fairings back on and have it as it was originally intended to be?
*As for the poll it was ment to read
Yes for fairings to remain on the bike.
No for fairings to be on the bike.

actaully the poll makes no sence, yes to having the fairings on, and no to streetfighter style?

And.. here's some pics with fairings off.
Maybe I should leave the rear fairing on and have front ones off??
Argh....I cant decide!!

Maybe the decision is not whether to have fairings on or not, but whether you want to customise / modify the bike?
Go for the custom look, it shows an enthusiasm and individuality that can be sadly lacking nowadays......
Once you've decided to custiomise it, decide on its function and a style you want to develop.
Then worry about the fairings!

Looks nice naked, if you hide the nasty wiring out of the way. Put the rear bit back on though, you want to see the grunty bits, not the naked arse poohole.

Personally I reckon fairings on, unless you're prepared to properly street fighter the bike...and the bike has a fair bit of work to get to street fighter level blingage wise (please refer to DMNTD's school of choppers for more info  ).
Almost every time I've taken my fairings off my bikes I've thought...woo hoo, thats getting me street fighter tent pitched...but it soon passes when I start contemplating the work required.
I do like the way they mount the lights though, it does prepare it somewhat for such a project.

Looks like a crashed heap of poo without fairings on if you dont spend some decent dollars on streetfightering it properly. Put the fairings back on, and fix your poll, it dosent make sense. You just like everything to be naked dont you!
Moi agree's with the poll bit, and all the other stuff you said...TempBJ was on the right track also....

Don't do it. You'll get stuck to the seat.
Leave the fairings on, sell it and buy a naked bike. Easy.

Hard choice. As it is without any mod's, gotta agree with Speedie, looks a bit rough.
With the fairings on its a sexy gixxer.
The streetfighter look is great, but only if done the right way, which can be pretty costly (in time and money). Put the fairings back on for now... do some research on the net for other gixxer600 owners that have modified thier bikes to streetfighters, get a basic idea of cost for parts and labour, then decide if its worth it.
I'm a huge fan of customizing ones bike and adding little bling bits. But at the end of the day it doesn't matter what any of us say... your the one who has to ride it.
Good luck making your decision :)

A half arsed streetfighter is just another name for a bike that has been thrown down the road and the owner:
a)Cant afford to fix it
b)cant be screwed going through and replacing the farings
c)Knows they are going to crash again before the end of the month so a head light kit is cheaper.
Unless your going to streetfighter it properly, normally meaning parting with quite a bit of cash in the process, keep the farings on it
Just my opinion :done:

My personal opinion is fairings off, but not some geeky streetfighter thing. Do a nice naked.

Colapop

Fairings off but you'll have to do some work to tidy it up to become a proper streetfighter... If you leave the fairings off as is... it just mean you're too cheap to get your fairings fixed...

Lol eeep oh no..
I've just cleaned my babe and she looks very clean and sparkly now....I will put the fairings back on tomorrow as I'd rather have a complete bike than a rat looking bike.
I will street fighter it at some stage. I quite like the different look, but that will be after I've customised it starting with a chain, sprockets, frame sliders...and the list goes on :innocent:
