I am not organising one as I may have other commitments at the time. However if some people are going on a ride this Sunday, I'll join you guys if I can.

I am keen to do SH22 and surroundings as my bike now tops out at about 120-140 (Its not my bro's XR) and I really don't wana go all the way to do the loop or Whanga-Waihi at that speed. I also have to be back in Auckland at about 1700 hrs to go to work.

Cheers. :yeah:

LOL

Paparazzi - I don't ride the GSXR on the road cause I can't afford to add any wear and tear to it with out getting any skill advancements in return. That bike will only be used on the track (the only place where I can/should really learn how to go faster safely).

I'll be on a very worn out TZR 250 street fighter! :cool2:

very sick if it can only do 120-140

I was wondering if the GSXR had fallen victim to the Kwaka-Kid school of tuning that I've heard of...

If your TZR have a top speed like that I might actually be able to keep up with you!

Wasp or no wasp, I reckon he will still kick your ass.... , no disrespect intendedThank you Jo but paparazzi has just begun riding bikes so that's not even a question right now. He is doing very well for someone of his experience.

I am sure FF and loosebruce will agree that the TZR is not slow through something like SH22. Let's just say that it is near impossbile to run in too hot for a corner on it and that just does wonders for the average speed for the whole ride.

I've got a kinda gutless bike! And I feel like my mental health (or lack thereof) could do with me going on a ride, I haven't done anything other than commuting for ages.

So is someone organising a ride this weekend?

Yay for gutless bikes! :2thumbsup Yeah, commuting messes with your head.. I was trying to work why today, I think it's got something to do with not leaning over enough..

Assuming no one else has a better idea I'd say meet at the Autobahn on Sunday around 10am. Then head on SH22 and down to Raglan.

The more the merrier! I should probably admit that I don't know the way to Raglan via SH22 or whether you can get to Raglan via SH22, but it looks sorta viable on my mapbook.. Maybe I shouldn't lead..

If no-one wants to do that route, I'd suggest Whangamata, I at least know how to get there

Here's the Autobahn description from the site FAQ:

The Autobahn café is a common meeting place for Auckland bikers heading south. It is located at the Motordrome service stop on the Southern Motorway. The off ramp to this service area is just past the Papakura off ramp. You cannot get off the motorway at this service stop as the only place you can go is back on the motorway.

As of yesterday , no road works in progress on 22, still the odd bumpy patch
and all new seal is aleast a week old, the 150mm drop in south bound lane on windy ridge just B4 Vladis corner is well marked with 30 k/shoulder closed and cones on road, so its all good.

Yep, I am keen. :yeah:
Gutless bikes are the perfect riding partners to keep me at a sensible pace.
Either that or just have a full time direct credit to the government every week

That sounds good to me, I haven't been very far down 22 before, but I've been to Whangamata etc. a few times.

Now I've gotta decide whether to change the oil and filter now or wait till after the ride (200k's to go before its done 5000km :scooter: since last service).
