The year was 1996, and Suzuki had just released their new generation GSXR750 range. Too poor at the time, I promised myself that at some point I would own one, blue and white like my then current gixxer 750. Well time passed, I had my accident, got back on bikes, rode for a while then roll on 2003, fucked off to Japan with my g/f. While in Japan I bought an Alpinestar 2-pce GPU2 suit in blue and white, didn't have the right bike for it at the time, but I knew what I wanted. Flew back to NZ and returned to my job (which was now paying enough to afford one of these beasties in cash) and lo and behold there she was. A 1997 GSXR750WV in blue and white, waiting for her new owner.

It had to be fate, it had to be a sign. Before I'd even unpacked I was the proud owner of my dream bike.

Well you can't have one because you wanted a 750cc. Granted the Senna's were pretty cool but the SPR was way overpriced which shows as MV struggled to sell them. In the end they sold the spr's they had assembled and then put the remaining spr motors in some stock f4's and called it the f4sr. I remeber seeing the first f4sr in NZ and thinking it would be nice since it was $3k cheaper than my 2001 f4.

Anyway, for me the only MV would be the Ago. The 1000cc motors are a vast improvement over the 750cc ones. 750cc is ok in the Brutale but for a sports bike MV should never of released the f4 as a 750.

1st dream bike was the CX500Turbo... and i found one, next was a Moto Guzzi 1100i sport.... and I found one.... then it was a Nero Corsa LeMans... and what ya know out of the blue one pops up this side of the world... and I now have it, so what is the next dream bike.... buggered if I know, will get back to ya on that. :apumpin:

I want an 06 GSXR thou. Straight Black, No markings.

just like this...... (Coincidently, My wallpaper for the last month)There's something really boring about fully faired bikes without any graphics or decals, even an apt sticker placed in the right place can break up the dullness if you know what I mean. My bike is totally black and without the oem stickers it would be very dull and plain. <_<

Rode with one of them K5's the other day and it impressed me, or maybe it was the just the way the nutter riding it passed me at lightning speed rapidly approaching those corners, mmm good brakes too! :eek5:

I suppose the K5/K6 could be a dream bike for me, but I could go out and buy one today if I *really* wanted to, so it wouldn't remain a dream for long would it!

But its so hard to choose! Ive always wanted the Duke, and loving the experience BUT to pick a dream bike, thats a big ask. I had the pleasure of a brand new Laverda SFC1000 in 1987, only two brought into the country that year by Eric Woods Motorcycles down in Christchurch. It was a majic bike and at that time was hard to beat, still a bloody good ride even by todays standards. If Im looking for bling/pose factor it would have to be the MV Augusta, but to go on pure riding prowess I would look at a Guzzi, there beautiful on the road and still have that exotic flavour to them, yep, love the European bikes for some reason.

Well I'd usually agree, I don't think this is the case with a black K5. Probably because the styling of the fairings breaks it up enough as it is.

I don't like the plain silver previous gen GSX-R1000s, but the plain black K5 is totally my dream bike.

Thats good for you, You must be loaded! I can't go out and buy one today if I want to.....
I could have one month back but I decided on spending my money on a second house. So I'm 6 months and counting now. Still, I'm 30 now, so an SV1000 and a Gixxer thou in my garages won't be a bad look.

The CBR1100, looks too big, styling is too plain. It just doesn't have the awesome cutting looks of todays thous, looks dated.
Yes, the straight black in the blackbird does look plain and boring, because the shaping is boring. Theres a huge difference between a straight black gixxer thou and a straight black blackbird. Anyway, stop the comparisons there, because other than top speed, there are none!

The only two bikes I'd want to ride around a track, would be a Gixxer or a CBR thou. I'm more into the suzuki though, especially after watching a Gixxer 600 turn into the manfield straight behind a brand new 05 CBR1000 and overtake it down the straight.

As for stickers and logos - Cheap & Tacky in my opinion. But thats my opinion! Each man to their own says I.

MV Agusta F4CC
L-C 16v 1078 engine rated at around 200 hp, 412.6 lbs dry, 200 mph....and one of the trickest bikes on the planet. You think the Ducati 1098 S tricolor is expensive and exclusive eh?? Well this MV Agusta costs a whopping $120,000.....and thats USD. No telling what that would cost in New Zealand after the exchange rates and "shiny new kit arse raping price increase" is added up. You might just have to take a little "vacation" to China and sell your left testicle for this bike.

I just went down to my local dealer and started drooling over the F4 1000RR so heavily one of the salesman called the police.......Im not sure I could even handle seeing the F4cc in the metal.....it migth make me go grand theft auto or something.........

I'll save a bundle then won't I by just buying the rather "tame" F4R 312... a snip at around AU$35,000. (someone do the math for NZ$+GrabSteal+Take, not up to it...)

Nice machine nevertheless. BTW F4CC actually does (factory quoted) a mere 195.6mph to the F4R 312's (again factory quoted) 194mph which funnily enough is 312kph.

Those FS1's are fetching serious money here carver.Because of our learner laws at the time they were the closest to a "real bike" 16 year-olds could ride. Those the SS1 Honda e.t.c. were generally known as 16ers but the Fizzy(ours were FS1Es)were all over the place.Properly restored ones now go for up to £2500,that's roughly $6700NZ ,or about 10 times what they cost new,and they're seen as classic bikes now with appropriately inflated prices.

Road Legal Britten

YEAH!

Amazing how unpatriotic this bunch is, a good kiwi bloke makes a bike, it goes fast/sounds horn/looks horn and everyone wants an MV, I'd have the Britten anyday, except maybe not pink and blue maybe unbadged and matt black

Wouldn't be a Britten then...

Ducati Street Fighter S with a more comfy seat and maybe risers to be a bit more upright fer this ole fella. and the Termignonis, ECM and air filter kit and some provision for luggage, slipper clutch and steering damper.

If you mean the FZR750RR OWO1 Yamaha. I agree. Had a boner for one of those since they were new in 89. Got a 1/12 Tamiya model of one I have had forever.

5 cylinder 125cc gp bike... 38 bhp at 20,500 rpm.

You know they had a two-piece crank.
3 cylinders at a 120 degree phase (like a Triumph) and then 2 cylinders at a 180 degree phase (like a Ninja 650R) joined together with the camshaft drive at the junction.
Quite an interesting concept.
