Was talking to a mate tonight and hes rebuilding his xt400 with the mandatory tweaking, what i was wondering was if any KB'rs knew where the cheapest and best suppliers would be to get replacement parts for complete rebuild. And if anyone whos done a xt knows of any additional tweaks to give him more performance. Ive ridden this bike and im nearly convinced that if I should ever step of my vfr then im going to get a motard (probably a yz450 or something like that, but thats not what this topic is about)
any help would be greatly appreciated. :niceone:

You need an XT600,TT600 or SRX600 engine to get more performance, bolt ins,but no electric starter on TT and SRX.Smaller front wheel and bigger brake, stiffen or reduce the suspn travel - the bike never changed for atleast 15 yrs and Yamaha are notorious for using the same parts across their product range,a bit of mix n match would work.

nice example there motu  sweet as. i think hell stick with the 400 for the mo. your right tho about the performance side of things but the down side of that for him is the weight. He used to race motards so he does still squek it around corners . cheers tho, will pass it on :niceone:
