Harley Davidson has scrapped plans to enter the Indian market.
Despite obtaining the agreement of the Indian government to accept lower emissions standards for large motorcycles, the American manufacturer has announced that “(import) tariffs would make the bike would be too expensive for the Indian consumer to participate in the Harley Davidson experience."
India had agreed to ease the emission standards for Harley Davidson in return for the U.S. allowing in imports of Indian mangoes.
