I ordered Some photos from ZAPF back in Novemeber at the Kiwibiker trackday, I paid for them way back then and still 5-6 MONTHS later I still havent got them despite repeated requests.
Im interested to know who else has paid this prick money for photos and has never recieved them.
Im basically taking this guys ripoff scheme to a higher authority and I am interested to hear from other victims of his little scheme
Comments appreciated

Yep, mistakes happen. But if Quasi has repeatedly requested the photo's then he should have been given his money back or given the photos. In fact, after 6 months he should be given a refund AND the photos. I know I do freebies for customers if I miss appointments etc. Kiwi customer service at it's best.

i'm used to it being the other way round, sending out the photos and waiting weeks for a cheque to arrive.

Sometimes I may get slack if it's the other way round but after repeated requests eventually get round to doing what is asked of me.

Hope they turn up soon Quasi

Hey Quas, are you after prints or electronic images?

I can lend you some nice ones of me on my bike if that'll help.

Well, this makes at least three of us.

I paid for hardcopies and electronic copies. I have only received the electronic ones.

Despite several reminder e-mails, I have not had a reply. Nothing to tell me I got it mixed up and I was wrong, nothing to say that they were on the way, nothing to say that there would be a bit of a delay cos he was busy.

That isn't a mistake.

I know at least one other person who has has the same experience.

Zapf, what's the story?

Mate, Quasi runs a business too selling stuff to KBers, he knows how it works.

I'll wait for him to reply... but I know that the email server can block emails, so he would never know that you are contacting him...

Yep this can happen..... my xtra webmail has thrown a few emails into the trash can, so that they never came into my 'inbox' at all. Plus they were from people that have been in my address book for a long time.

Heck even xtra sends their own 'Max newman emails' to my spam folder lol.
One in 6 will get throu to me... lol.

I was lucky to have spotted the important email. Only discovered it when I went into the webmail every two weeks to do a clean out of the spam and spotted a couple sitting in the 'trash box'. It was huh ! better see what they are, cos I never sent them there.

So emails can get lost, without your knowledge.

Now I go there every week if I remember that is.

Many people dont bother with checking via xtramail now known as webmail or other setup that there comps have for their emails.

Im not excusing what has happened, just explaining what may have happened to emails being sent to people.

I'm with Quasi. I paid for electronic and paper pics and after two reminders still no hard copies! 6 months is beyond reasonable doubt - Lets hang em.
I regret leaping to zapf defence when people were slagging him off for charging a fee at TTD3 (Nov 06). I happily paid the fee but did expect something in return.
ps- he replied to my PMs and said he would get on to it soon. 6 months is not soon.

1) Firewalls don't generally block e-mails from an address once you reply to that address. In my case, 2-way contact had already been established.

2) He will have received PM's. If you visit KB (which he has done since), he wil have recieved reminder PM's, if they were sent.

3) TD4 (which is what we are talking about) was in NOV 2006. We are not talking about TD5 earlier this month.

I was going to chalk this one up to experience, as I haven't actually seen him since Nov '06, and didn't realise I wasn't the only one. But now we're talking about it........

1. Emails, while not guaranteed, are best effort, and it depends how the server treats the message. Normally, the only way it is truly unsent, is to be classified as spam, no messages are sent to receiver or sender, as it defeats the purpose. How a server classifies emails as spam are up to it, and how its programmed (checking of sending server, spam lists, etc etc).

On the other hand, his messages to you, *could* have been blocked. That is also possible, and again, it depends how the server you collect emails off, is programmed...

2. It wasn't noted how he was contacted. Could be pm or various email addresses, which changes things.

We'll wait for him to see the thread...

Thanks Quasi, I have been so busy that I haven't even have time to hop on my bike. Let alone to fight with you. I have had the stack of photos sitting on my desk for a few months. I'll just have to put off some sleep to spend an hour or two filling sending them. If you want to slag me off go ahead, I'll just go and sob.

If you really want to count points, I am sure you remembered who spotted and picked up your belt bag with your digicam / wallet ... etc. Having to make u turn to go back to the corner to pick it up at the risk of some B train come charging around. Grateful are you not... It really upsets me that you are calling names. If I am really the scheming type, you most likely wouldn't have seen it again.

If anyone is reading this I believe I own printed photos to the following ppl.

MD - 7 prints
Quasi - 3 prints
Clivoris - 2 prints
bret_is_evil - 2 prints.

If anyone is REALLY upset. Then just PM me your bank account, I'll send you your prints and refund you money.

For the record all the electronic copies were delivered.

Quasi, can you PM me an address to yours to. I don't have them on the spreadsheet.

For the record, I will also make sure I don't under pay myself. That is what happens when I try to do too many things for too many people for next to nothing.

Regardless of what was done and who was helped on a ride, this is business.

Gremlin, stop defending your boss and think "customer" for a second.

People ave paid their monies, they expect their goods. Zapf, it sounds like you've got too much on your plate mate and saying "Hey, I can't provide 'em right now. Sorry." might have saved a shitload of mudslinging your way.

not defending, there is always a reason for something... maybe bret thought he had to put it in a public forum to get action, I dunno.

regards email, I had the exact issue, a website from the US wasn't getting their emails through to me, I was wondering wtf was going on, so, sent the third email from another account, separate server. Turned out, they had replied to every email... but they didn't come through.

actually, never have, not that sort... it comes from disliking lawyers...

situations turn to custard, people don't talk, lawyers called in... and no-one ever wins but the lawyers... If only people could have been civil, given one another a chance to express their side...

shit... I sound sane...

Hey, that's cool, I understand the emails not getting through thing.

But surely, after five months, when someone REPLYS to one of your emails saying, "I'm on it, you'll get 'em in a couple of days", and a month later you still haven't received something, you'd still be pretty sure some fucken geek techno thing wasn't blocking ya. Wouldn't you?

I dunno, you guys know computers. I just know customer service........

in some situations, you wouldn't know, unless someone said (via phone, etc), oi, I sent you an email, you get it?

I wasn't going to speak on his behalf, just saying, there could be reasons... He's big enough and ugly enough to defend himself

Customer service is easy... there is far more to it than that. I could say yes to anything asked to me... but that would never work, would it?

I also know how bret might feel... speaking of that, (don't want to take it off topic, but bret will read this) read ya pm's, I dun know where ya live, no mob number, so can't collect front/back protector, until I do :)

Thanks, know what you mean. Do however keep in mind that the money was to cover cost, not to fatten the wallet. If I was in the business of making profit from the venture then I can totally understand. However I was just doing it for the community and covering my cost.

If I was doing it for Profit, the customers will get a very different level of service. That is why my for profit customers have been getting all my attention lately.

Next time I am doing this, it'll be for profit. And the service will be reflected accordingly.

Same here, that's why I gave up taking photos at track days unless I knew people really wanted them. I got so sick of being told they would definitely buy them but all they did was look and say "great shots" and never front up with the cash. $12,000 worth of camera equipment doesn't pay for itself so I only took shots of those I knew would pay in the end!

One month is bad enough, but six months is totally unacceptable.

Can you tell me exactly what you need to do to get these photos delivered to the people that have paid you for them. Are they printed out? Do you have to get them printed? Exactly what needs to be done? Or is it a case of you actually cant provide them for whatever reason? Feel free to PM me, if you dont want to put it up here.
