What is everyone else's views on these bikes?

:ride:What kind of a question is that?!
It's not like you're comparing two similar bikes - they're poles apart. You just have to ride both, and decide for yourself. The R1 will probably be quicker (once the revs are up), maybe easier to ride, but with less character and style than the Mille, but probably cheaper to run(?)
Anyone on here that has a V-twin will opt for the 'Priller; all the IL4 guys will say the R1. Because they're different, you should buy both.:msn-wink:
(Just so you know - "Mille" is pronounced "Me-yuh", not "Millie".)

Yeah, test ride em both and decide yourself.
I rode my first in line 1000cc on Saturday (did swap with a mate's K3), and boy oh boy the two bikes are world's apart. (SP1 vs K3)
The gsxr was knife like through sweepers (although I've learnt my strg head brgs need replacing).
The difference in power delivery was phenomenal. The K3 accelerates up through the gears like a two stroke motorcross bike, and the power just keeps building.

It's a choice between instant gratification (R1) or long term satisfaction.

come on brother!!!! wash your mouth out! if i wasnt a poor student i would buy the mille!! R1's are awsome bikes but one they are so one trick ponies, all go at 10000rpm. trust me, from someone who cant have fun below 140kmh on his bike!
the mille will be awsome at low speeds, in and out of traffic and even when you get tired (when...) of the power you can do monsterous wheelies of biblical proportions!
plus an R1 will never sound as good! :Punk:
Rock on brother, will be down soon!

I am not going for a Duc because there are no suitable ducies for the price i would pay, for the aprillia. ($12900)
If someone has a 996 for similar, LET ME KNOW!!
It does how ever wheelie in third! What a machine.
Hopefully ride the R1 this week. Depends if im good at work or not. :niceone:

:) :scooter: Yeah we do still the 400duc, Its not too bad.
They are not very fast, (my gixer would pass it like its not moving.) But those bikes are not made for gp racing.
Good cheap Duc to get started on.

This is all heresay, but if it's for real I wouldn't be bothering with a Duc unless you can afford to run it: A mate of mine who's a bike mechanic told me that a 998 needs the cam belts done every 10k km, a standard service is $1k and it's easier to take the heads off when adjusting the desmo valves. :shit:
I rode an 03 RSV Mille a few weeks back, mate, if you can get one for that kind of money, buy it! If you decide the R1 is more your thing you can sell the RSV and make a profit.

As exellent as the R1 range is. See what it is worth next year . Jap bike's seem to loose money faster than they Go . May be something to do with the fact that there are just so many of them made ? For real world riding The Mille would be the Great bike to go for . If you are into doing 260 plus if your skill is up to it then the R1 has to be the choice , Happy buying Dude . Sensei :niceone:
