Side-mounted number plate

just finished making my side mount, now i find out it has to be no more than 30 degree off centre of a vechile, so it's illegal, but it is going to stay side mounted, made a small rear mount no plate to fit under the tail light , it will say BAD9R, will book a personal plate the same, funny law because my boat trailer has a side mounted plate and can not be seen from one side , it should have 2 number plates one each side of the boat, f....ck the l.t.d, the plate is staying on the side, this beast is a bad ass bike and the plate now moved shows off the wide 280 tyre even more

Nice work.

Never had a problem getting my side mounted plate through Lvvta. Seemed to get through just fine. So long as it doesn't poke out too far to the side.

I had more concerns over the placement of the indicators, and the stop light on the number plate being seen from either side of the bike. Can't remember the angle though. But this got through ok as well.

Yeah, I agree a sound mounted plate gets some getting used to. The reality is that on a lot of chops with small rear gaurds and number plates in one size only, plates mounted on the rear look even worse.

Oo this is new to me. Can I mount my plate on the side? Never even considered it. It'd look the dogs bollocks on my Apocalypse bike!

hmm, I think I agree Hitcher, the symmetry dont quite look the part, but more of a concern what does it do to the aerodynamics at speed, does it act like a foil on one side....eeek... Like you say tho Bmz2 a trailer can have one like that and as long as its lit no problem..

I don't think a 315kg+ bike would really notice the extra drag.

I had to chop my plate up quite a bit to get a WOF :rockon: :yes:

Got under 1cm around the whole plate of white... looks pretty good

my plate is mounted as part of the crankcase and if i carry a passenger there foot obscures the plate yet it went through vtnz no problems and gets a wof every time ?? dont figer?? plus got a personal plate now REBL

I didn't realise you needed a number plate on an aircraft carrier.

you can only see the light when its in use as its the same colour as the paint useing leds, the guards are one offs from arlen ness.
