Kia Ora you lot, I was in NZ up to 1995, then from 2000-2003. Had a lot of good times there and I am just wanting to get in touch with anyone who might remember some of the things we used to get up to, particularly anyone who spannered with me or raced at Ruapuna. Does anyone know the whereabouts of Pete and Lynn Lawrence? I am now living in the UK, most of my bikes still in NZ but the Norton is now in the UK. I had a nice 916 but recently swapped it for a 1926 Rudge Whitworth sidecar outfit, wicked. Roads in UK not so good for the Duke. Too much traffic. Lewis Pass is its territory! the old outfit better for Wife and Daughter too. Please get in touch people, keen to hear any news. Glad to Hear Bruce Anstey doing so well at the TT and that Shaun Harris is on the mend. Go the Kiwis, we can all be very proud.

Thanks for that, yes I have been collecting bikes for a while now. Seems a pity really becuase you just can't use them all. Half here and half in NZ too... NZ is motorcycling mecca. I did a couple of brass monkeys too which were great although a couple were disappointingly WARM.
I liked the TL1000 too, a wicked bit of gear. I rode one round the Canterbury plains one day and got 165mph out of it, excellent performer. The 916 is so different, feels so much smaller and lacks the raw power to be honest. Feels slower but isn't, you look down at that speedo and its a surprise. I rode mine through France and up into Andorra and Northern Spain last year. Great roads in Andorra, big wide sweeping alpine passes, nice! The 916'd do 160+ as well but felt to me at least a wee bit more stable than the TL, maybe the TL I rode wasn't that well set up, not sure. Cheers for that and I do hope I catch up with some of the crew..

 Not the same 'Billy'(Matthew) Knight that lived in Riccarton in his youth & had a fascination with DKW 2stroke cars at one stage
