People always seem to say around here about the float bowls in the carbs. When fuel has been sitting in them, it turns into a horrible sort of lacquer. Perhaps you need to pull the bowls off and give them a clean? Along with the rest of the carb.

I also remember reading a thread about Yungatart's new bike -- it had been sitting up for a long time too, and when she picked it up it was running like a bagful of arseholes (love that phrase, been looking for a place to use it :D). On the ride home it seemed to slowly blow out and come right. Maybe it needs a long hot run?

Hey Droca, JamieDunedin here from Trademe. Good to see you getting it up and running again. Pity they don't make a kero-powered bike eh! Or a fuel tank you can pump up to pressure.

Welcome to KB. Enjoy the freedom of getting back out there.
We found our old guzzis usually get up and go after changing the bad fuel, cleaning/changing the plugs, check the timing & balancing the carbs if they have been sitting for a very long time. I hope you get a local to show you how.

Replaced the fuel, cleaned the carbs and actually got the old girl running.Still a bit rough and I now think I will replace the coils as it loses spark on one side now and then. What a learning curve, balancing carbs is not my forte in life.Keep on keeping on.
