I have been off my bike for sometime now... With the news I recieved today it looks like I will be off my bike for much longer than expected... I actually thought I'd be able to start back at work tomorrow.. But we don't exactly get what we want...
Anyway...
Apart from the risk of a flat battery.. (My bike is sitting under the deck at mums and does get a bit wet depending on what direction the rain comes in) Is there anything else that I should check/do to my bike before I start it and ride it again when I am able to..? Or would it be fine to just kick it over and off I go if it wants to start..?
cheers

Should be fine. Buy a cover for it.
If anything is going to go, it'll be the battery, particularly in winter (assuming it needs its battery...)

Being a two stroke, you might want to start it up occassionally to avoid all your seals drying out.
Otherwise take the battery out of your bike, store it someplace warm and dry, and give it a charge before you need to use your bike.
If you can it's a good idea to get both wheels off the ground to help your tyres.
Finally if you are going to have the bike off the road for a few months, fill the tank, add some fuel stabiliser, and empty your carbs.

Its already been sitting for ages without being kicked over... (got no one here to do it atm) Can't kick it over myself as my foots pretty useless so I can't even stand on it and use my good foot..
Will try getting my partner out to mums this weekend to sort something out..
Thanks.. :)

if you cant get the tyres off the ground, make sure you check the pressure before you take off. my virago had a flat front due to sitting in the show room for about 9 months.

My pleasure.
If ever there was a reason to start doing weights wouldn't this be one of them?
Are you sure you were on the compression stroke the time you attempted it?

There are only so many channels on sky... And only so many times that your willing to watch a repeat.. lol
Have 11 more days and if it hasn't come completely right by then they are going to send me off to physio as it should have been completely better by now.. We shall see...

aren't you lucky
and yes I agree with sky
you can only watch so many repeats
I lucky I can get around
but I won't be able to to get back to work for at least a couple months
least I get a overseas trip during this break to break the sky boredom but then back to sky and most likely surgury which may lay me up for another 2 to 6 months
well at least the whole time will be on Full pay

Just having a run of badluck thats all.. :)Hmmmm....I hear ya. Having more than my share lately too.
vamr has a good point.
After my bin at Taupo, I have only just resumed normal duties. My shoulder still gives me grief(and it wasnt even broken) and I still dont have much of a grip with the left hand but I am getting stronger everyday....even helped mum shift a stove today. I have my last fracture clinic tomorrow where I find out if I need physio or not.
If you keep exercising and increase fitness, it will help with the healing.
Hope your luck does a u-ie soon.:sunny:

Time to buy a lotto ticket I think.. lol.. Though I did win some money so I think my luck might be doing a bit of a turn around.. ;)
Just be careful shifting stuff.. You can easily tweak something and put yourself straight back to square one.. Some times even years down the track you can do something to it and tweak it again..
Good luck with that..
I cut my foot open and had to have to stitched up.. Foot swelled up like a balloon, went black in places.. Swellings gone down but it turns blue and goes cold on me.. Along with pins and needles.. put any pressure on it and it feels like my whole foot wants to burst.. They don't think I cut any tendons or nerves.. They reckon its just from having it resting for too long and not using it..
Exactly what you said.. Is what I've been told.. Exercise, been told to push down on it and try forcing myself to walk on it but in doses, cause when I push it to hard where it got stitched splits slightly.. Just needs to be worked, but that takes time..
Thanks... Same goes for you Kelly.. :)
