    Lack of use issues

I have been off my bike for sometime now... With the news I recieved today it looks like I will be off my bike for much longer than expected... I actually thought I'd be able to start back at work tomorrow.. But we don't exactly get what we want...

    Anyway...

Apart from the risk of a flat battery.. (My bike is sitting under the deck at mums and does get a bit wet depending on what direction the rain comes in) Is there anything else that I should check/do to my bike before I start it and ride it again when I am able to..? Or would it be fine to just kick it over and off I go if it wants to start..?

    cheers

Should be fine. Buy a cover for it.

If anything is going to go, it'll be the battery, particularly in winter (assuming it needs its battery...)

Being a two stroke, you might want to start it up occassionally to avoid all your seals drying out.

Otherwise take the battery out of your bike, store it someplace warm and dry, and give it a charge before you need to use your bike.

If you can it's a good idea to get both wheels off the ground to help your tyres.

Finally if you are going to have the bike off the road for a few months, fill the tank, add some fuel stabiliser, and empty your carbs.

Its already been sitting for ages without being kicked over... (got no one here to do it atm) Can't kick it over myself as my foots pretty useless so I can't even stand on it and use my good foot..

Will try getting my partner out to mums this weekend to sort something out..

    Thanks..

if you cant get the tyres off the ground, make sure you check the pressure before you take off. my virago had a flat front due to sitting in the show room for about 9 months.
