There is a Yamaha 400 FZR on trade me for $800.00 its been laid up for 3 years and does not go, I have talked to the guy and he tells me that the shims and top end mite need doing, he tells me it fires but doesnt run. I am from Hawkes Bay and wonder if anyone can check it out for me to see if it is on the level cos a long way for me to pick up if it is a lemon. It looks prety good, the guy drives go Karts so I thought he must have a bit of nouce to fix it but he didnt seem to clued up. cheers

It looks OK in the pictures but it will be more than shims most likely.
Check out my thread on the FZR400 and particularly the lack of spares bit. Also that bike has no wof or rego and getting it on the road might be impossible - you should check that. However, if you like getting your hands dirty and want a track bike $800 is great.
