Honda were hyping up the fact they were fielding Ukawa on a new generation RCV and I was thinking he's probably past it or else he would have stayed in MotoGP.

What the QP1 result shows is that new bike was hauling arse alright with the highest top speed on the circuit but the rider isn't cutting it so it doesn't look like it will be a threat.

As for Hopper, well done and no doubt well done to Erv too. Can they keep it together for the next qualifying session and the race?

Gibernau will be pissed down in tenth. Rossi as always is Mr Consistancy.

Biaggi is starting to come under some real threat from his team mate. It used to be 'leading camel' = Biaggi. Not almost half the time it seems to be Tamada in front.

Andy1 - The Jap media going nuts over Tamada yet? Seems to be a pretty good bet for their first world champ. Only real problem for him in the coming couple of years is Rossi.

I'm praying that the Bridgestones can handle the race distance. If so, KR's no mug, he'll be up there. But look out for Abe, he could start from pit lane and still do a hell of a lot of damage storming through the field.

Yes, but thats just the posted time of the trucks coming in from the airport. Of course suzuki will be first, they just live up the road a bit.

When they get the bikes out of the crates, then the real times will happen :eek:

Nope, final qualifying is over and he is 2nd on the grid. Tamada is 1st and rossi is 3rd. Shows how much bridgestone has improved over the last 6 months.

Go hopkins, but I don't know if he is quite ready to dice it with rossi and come out on top, would be good for the sport though. Tamada has to be a chance of winning, he did pretty good at estoril.

WOW. Well I stand humbly corrected.

Tamada's been pretty on to it all season. Would be quite nice for him to win infront of his home crowd.

As for Hopkins I'm sure he'll walk away having learnt heaps. Lets hope this helps cement his place for next year.

As for Gibernau, he must be spitting tacks sitting down in 13, watching his chances of upsetting "Rossi's ride to glory" fading fast.

Both qualifying sessions are basically the same one. The best time you did from either one is your qualifying lap. Do you understand that? So yes, because rossi got a good lap in on the first day, he gets to keep that and his 2nd day qualifying doesn't affect anything.

Yep but it is unlike him not to be able to improve on his QP1 time, in fact dropping a second. The improvement by many others showed it wasn't a weather problem or anything. So what was it?

Just checked out the motogp website and it seems as though really high track temps meant not very much grip. The bridgestones must work slightly better in the hotter temps.

All the other rders had left to the hotel..

Yea todays temp was hotter than yesterday it was very Humid. with a very lite drizzle for some of the day.

i guess we just need to wait and see what happens tmr..

Well - ya gotta feel sorry for John Hopkins. I guess if Capirossi doesn't get banned for Qatar Dorna/FIM can expect a law suit from Team Suzuki......guess we'll see.......
