1988 Honda CR125R

Well I have had this girl for a while, got it very cheap, spent about $1000 on tyres, chain, bearings, filters, plugs, brake pads and grips. Learned to ride (well a little) and then had an unfortunate incident which caused the poor girl to run dry at Woodhill. Not seized but damaged the bore.

I have since then pulled the top end apart to see the head has a little pitting which is being repaired, the bore was 2mm oversize. Hence I had to purchase another cylinder from Ebay along with a brand new wiseco piston which are both also at the engine reconditioner for the cylinder to be honed.

SO.. the story is I have kidded myself into thinking I have time to fix her up and sell it cheap to someone to learn on (pay it forward and all) BUT I have been very busy and let many other things get in the way.....I am also a poor struggling student...

Therefore anyone who is interested in this bike please let me know, I am very open to offers. Any questions just ask.

Photos will come as soon as I can find my camera.

Note: This will not go on trademe, if no KBers want it then she will sit until I can fix her up.

To be honest you could have it for less than that. I was thinking around the $600 mark.

There is a relevant thread here (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=36480&highlight=ardmore)

I have attached a pic from when she was a goer, I will put some current ones up soon.

will the bike have a rebuilt top end?
sounds interesting. how reliable was it/is it?
I want a beach racer and trail ride hack

It will come with all the parts for a top end rebuild but you will have to do it yourself. It was more reliable than I was, but that was when it was running so unfortunately I could not say either way, hence the low price.

Would make a perfect hack/beach racer but you should expect to spend 15-30 hours on it getting it ready if you are not a mechanic.

I do also have a full gasket set and a workshop manual :)

OK, I am constantly doing little things on it as I love tinkering and if it dosent go to a KBer (that promises to get her right!) then I will be keeping it. So the longer you wait the better it will be :)

I also have riding gear which will be useless to me which would be avaiable. Im a shorty at 5"7 and 70kg, if your keen for cheap as chips gear then let me know.
