Well I've been riding for who no's how long. Probably about the time I was strong enough to hold a bike up. So about 11-13 years. And I'm on my second bike that I've actually owned. All the rest belonged to mates/relations etc.

Been riding on the road legaly 31 years.
Had around thirty bikes, don't know for sure, most of em' only lasted a year or so.There's been in no particular order, BSA,Norton,Triumph,Yamaha,Honda,Suzuki,
CZ,Ducati,HD.
I got real stuck on Suzuki two strokes for a while, then the same with Triumph twins. The BSA and Norton were lessons on what not to do.
The Duke only lasted six months for reasons to do with needing to ride a lot at night time and not needing dodgy electrics.
The CZ was fun.The Hondas were boringly reliable and staid.
My first road bike was a Yamaha and my current bike was bought on the good memorys from an earlier version of the same model.
Now if I could just get me a 79 version and and and :niceone:

I've been riding 34 yrs,and ...um,I got somewhere in the 40s before I got confused and lost the plot. That's not counting the bikes that have come into my hands and vanished from existance,or passed onto someone else - like the CB250 with spare engine, but no swing arm,it didn't interest me.Or the very first AT1,a 1969 model, original white tank, seat cover, even the cute carrier rack,I got it running, but the mains were noisier than the exhaust,so the guy just left it with me.I pushed it round the back of the house, against the water tank, and it never moved for 6 yrs,I put the levers on my KT250,the wheels came off for the tyres.A CB200 with recon engine I never even attempted to start,it just rotted away.I've had too many bikes to know what to do with,I bet some have even been stolen without me knowing.

27 years since I rode my first motorcycle, but 12 years away from '91 to '03.

I've had my full licence since 1986.

in order of ownership:

GP125, CB350, TS185, IT400, KZ400, GPZ750, FZR750R.

I also used to tool around on Dad's Vespa's, GS550, and GT750 kwaka.

On Oct 23 I will have been back on bikes a whole year!!

Er - Have been riding for 6 years and I have owned 4 bikes.

Taught myself how to ride on my first bike, which was a TZR250
Then I had a 89' ZXRtwofitty, and then a 93' ZXRtwofitty.

Six bikes, 14 years of road riding during which I had maybe 2-3 bikeless years.
RZ250, FZ400R- gap- GPX750R*- gap- RZ350**, VFR700***, FZR1000W
Did about 10 years of riding various farm bikes before I started road riding.
* Decent bike, did about 20,000k in 6 months. Died a horrible death under a Holden Kingswood- I was on it at the time
** Bought as a box of parts in desperate attempt to get back on a bike (terrible addiction it is!). Rebuilt the engine meself, put it back together and it actually worked!
*** This could count as two bikes. Bought it as 'LePig'- God only knows why. It'd had a major prang- no fairings at all, not even the tail piece. Eventually I got tired of other bikers looking at it thinking 'what the fuggen hell did you do to it?', so I found all the bits, painted it up and it looked pretty good.

Does anybody else reckon that riding is more of an addiction than a sport/ hobby?

I've been riding 33 years (I am quite old) and had 16 bikes - one of which I owned twice (RD 350) I tend to keep my road bikes a long time - I've had my SRX 10 years and it was born in 1987. Dirt bikes get turned over every year or 2.
:niceone:
1973 Yamaha RT3 360 (73)
1974 Honda CR 125 (75)
1973 Yamaha RD 350 (76)
1976 Honda XL 350 (77)
1975 Suzuki TS 125 - swapped for CR then swapped for Nikon camera body (77)
1977 Yamaha IT175e (77)
1977 Suzuki GS 750 (78)
1977 Honda CG 110 (79)
1977 Honda XR250 (79)
Bought old RD 350 back
1980 Suzuki PE 175T (1980)
1980 Yamaha XJ 650 (1981)
1978 Yamaha SRX 600 (1994)
1996 Yamaha TRX 850 (1996) wrote it off in prang 2004
2000 Honda XR 650R (2001)
2003 Yamaha WR 450 (2003)
2001 Yamaha XJR1300SP (2004)
My bikes have been growing larger to compensate for my expanding waistline

Now just keep taking the pills....

Seriously - yeah, you're probably right. At least I've got that out in the open with Mrs FS (that it's a toy, it's expensive, I'm obsessed, etc etc), so I don't have to play games.

I've been riding 33 years (I am quite old) and had 16 bikes - one of which I owned twice (RD 350)How did that come about? Did you sell it, then miss it too much? (And I'm quite old too, or at least I'm starting to feel it....)

28 years or so since I first threw my leg over my grandfathers TS125 when I was 8 or so.
The occasional ride on that bike until I got my bike licence when I was 15.
Mum had a QT50 and an SR185 so I had a choice of which bike to use - You could bunnyhop the QT and it went well around the BMX track but I didn't tell you that ok?

I've had 7 bikes.
SR185 (gone).
VT250F2F Integra (Nice bike) (gone).
Savage 400 (gone).
Gilera Nordwest 1 (Traded the Savage in on it).
Gilera Nordwest 2.
1981 XL250s (Swapped the VT for it) (Gone).
1979 XR250z.

Ridden every day since I got the VT 8 years ago as my bikes are my work transport.

Isn't it scary how old some of us must be! Almost 30 years since I got my bike licence, but had a few years off with marriage, house, kids, kids sport etc.

Only owned 13 bikes so far, but have had a chance to ride a lot more (even better when you don't own them).

Eddieb
28th September 2004, 09:24
Had my license for 13 years, including a 2 year enforced break due to non motorcycle related injuries. Through that I've had 13 bikes, including the 3 in the garage at the moment.

Been riding (started on the road, sadly no junior mx childhood) 21 or so years though the first couple I only had a provisional licence, early bikes a bit scared to take them to the cop shop as either had not much in the way of indicators etc or so they might notice the 250 stickers on the RD350 which I sold to buy a nice sensible GSX250 so I could get a licence.

Man it was slow. The testing officer asked where the WOF was & I said, think it’s under the seat or something & he lost interest. I’d just bought it & the guy said it had a warrant so I believed him the lying bastard! Still the slow bike taught me a lot more than the 350 before it.

Had 33 bikes across the range with 7 ½ bikes presently covering all 4 jap manufacturers, Beta & a couple of GasGas.

Been racing buckets for about 15 years.

25 years riding....in order I think:

'85 CT110 (not really mine - farm hack bike)
'84 XR80 (cost me $200 which took me 2 years to save for)
'84 RM80
'82 RM125
'88 CR125
'91 KX125
'92 KX250
'89 NSR250
'91 RGV250
'98 CBR600
'99 YZ250
'99 Firestorm
'00 748S
'01 YZ250F
'03 Firestorm
'93 RGV250 (Racebike)

748 was the best one but stretched me finances too thin. Shouldn't have bought the second VTR - great bike but been there done that. YZ250F an awesome motox machine - if you haven't ya gotta try these 4 stroke mx bikes. Most fun to race - especially when you get tired (lap 2).

RGV race bike is great....when it goes....still working on that one.

82 RM125 was the worst one. It was stuffed but all I could afford. Got smoked by the at the time 1988 state of the art mx bikes.

15 years.
pe185
yamaha xz 400
yamaha xj600
honda vfr 750 current
kwaka kdx 250 current

learnt heaps on the yamahas (mostly how to pull bikes apart) but were fun to ride. would like to get a bigger bike but I just know Ill thrash it. Rode my mates gsxr1100 a few times, nice acceleration :D but the vfr's suits me and would have to fork out heaps of dosh to replace it with something else. And i also own a complete spare vfr, just cant seem to be bothered fitting the mint fairings. Plus ive just rebuilt all the shocks (well a guy called goden gizzler {sp?} has) and she handels sooo well now...............
Next bike might have to be a motard. If you like corners those things rok!! and your less likely to get fines.

I must say you ride 'exceptionally well' for a noob TS! To be on your 150cc and leading a group of fast riders on a gixxer1000, a gixxer750, and my CBR600, you sure impressed me...tad slow on the straights that's all  . I just hope that a serious crash won't slow you down too much? You know when you said to me on Sunday "it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when!"

Looking forward to seeing your new wheels soon. Take care out there.

Full licence at 15 in 1968. First was a 250 Royal Enfield but it never went and mum made me take it back. Then 350 AJS powered Velocette, followed by a 500 Matchless G9. Discovered jap trailbikes in 1972 - Kawasaki Bighorn 350. Followed by a Yamaha Dt175, then a DT250. Then to speedway bikes - JAP, Jawa 2v, Weslake and Jawa 4v. They kept me busy for about 16 years. Back onto roadies with a Honda 750F1, a gap of many years then the Suzuki GS1100GK and the IT400.
Thats not very many bikes for quite a few years. Would like something newer, but... priorities.

True,I have the F4i,Don't c many of them any were which to me is a good thing.Dont like seeing to many of the same bike in one city.Rare is good.Ive never seen someone on the same bike as me,I love it :first:
I've only seen one or two F4i's up here in Ak. I bought a 2K non-injected F4 model which is awesome and just getting better, so I know where you're coming from! :Punk:

[color=navy]I must say you ride 'exceptionally well' for a noob TS! To be on your 150cc and leading a group of fast riders on a gixxer1000, a gixxer750, and my CBR600, you sure impressed me.

yeah your right Zed, when you ride with TS its hard to belive, the short time hes been on a bike !!, and as for taking the lead, :weep: yeah your right again... :bye: Can;t wait to see him on his new 600, He rode my R6 a while ago (yeah on 22) and :cool2: MR :cool2: is the only one I have seen ride it better, yeah not bad for a nana Chris..

I like riding other bikes because it makes me appreciate my own! Especially after riding the Meany, its good to get back on something that i can ride without scraping the running boards on every corner

Wow...

ummm - started riding on a KX80 back in '82 (ok... 22 years...) and since then I've owned
1) CB100 (never went)
2) ER 185
3) GPZ550
4) RF900

at that rate I'll be on something with around 1500cc next time!

Course I might just go for something like the Triumph 955 I think. Love the look of those things
