Keep clear of the 98, 99 years as they had a dodgy starter mechanism....there's lots out there Steve, good luck!

The DR650 is a tad lame from experience and a worked DRZ400 is much more fun. Your call though at the end of the day.

But did he tell you that once you work the motor you can also put a stronger chain in and other associated parts?

Suffice to say, I have no qualms about thrashing mine. Which I will be doing in about 30 minutes.

Hurrah!!

I found that when I test piloted the SM that the standard version was soooo underpowered compared to the DRZ that I had. I was going to buy a set of motard rims so I could put the standard tank with the tard rims on and have the same sort of fun that clip shows. Well, that and sliding around courners as I was doing it with the knobblies but it tended to go through tyres alot. But alas I never found a cheap set of rims before my accident and never got the chance. However riding the ex's magic was fun. Stoppies are so easy on those little things, esp on the road...
