"ere "ang about! When did I volunteer to bake a cake?
Cajun
23rd October 2007, 12:04
Perhaps a Welly bake off is in order. I am happy to volunteer as one of the judges.
you should be in the kitchen,
I think me as a senior mod, i am unbias so i can be a judge.
So on that note wellintonians, get your aprons on and bake me some cakes.
please note, i don't eat coffee cake, anyone bring these cakes to be judged will be disqualified

Please dont let final arrangements get lost in a cake bake discussion... give the people who need to read the final arrangements a chance to find them before all the drivel starts.
After the bash you can talk as much crap as you see fit... because then the people who are coming from all over have been and done what is needed.
Sorry to be the wet blanket again. :Police:

It's not going to become a drivel thread Joni... it'll just reflect the fun and diversity that is KB. Long may it last! I'm already looking forward to the 10 year KB anniversary.

Auck – I have spoken to the venue and all is confirmed, it will just be an informal get together in the bar area… drinks, snacks etc as you guys see fit. Yay!
When the 'snacks' are all gone come on up here, there will be cake..Anne will see to that....:niceone:....there will people here that are having birthdays on or around the 27th...B-B-Q will get fired up around 9pm i guess, all meat supplied, and there will be a special guest....:jerry:

Its a little awkward having 2 events almost in the same city as Auckland has... the venue has requested I give them an indicative amount of people who are coming... I have used the poll for this. If anyone decides that are rather going to the other one at Maha's, please let me know so I can chat with the venue later in the week with new numbers.

Relax Joni, you are not responsible for who turns up where, we are expecting the 9 that have registered to attend. The BBQ at Maha's is simply an alternative.
Oh and BTW.....Warkworth is a small rural town, and does not resemble Auckland in any way shape or form.

Relax Joni, you are not responsible for who turns up where, we are expecting the 9 that have registered to attend. No I'm not responsible for who turns up you are right, but I have been asked by the venue as the person who is arranging the bash with them to confirm numbers. Fairly simple. So it would be nice if I could do that.

I read that as 38 on the poll. Confirm that. I have not seen too much evidence of someone taking the Auckland party by the horns, though I dont mix down there too often..:dodge: So as far as your information goes 38 is the attendees. Like I said we expect 9.
And I can assure you we will celebrate KB's birthday in fitting style.....complete with cake (sorry I could not resist) :dodge:
Joni
23rd October 2007, 17:45
Sorry Mom, no disrespect, but I have had a few people indicate that they have changed their minds and are thinking of going to the one and not the other... so please let me just arrange the Auckland one...
So people, I have confirmed 35-40 for now... as requested before, if anyone is not going please can you let me know so I can let the venue know at the end of the week...

Mom and Maha very much been looking forward to our little get together. Looking forward to catching up with the Quicks as well, havent seen Steve and Dawn for ages.
Ive no doubt whichever party people attend this Saturday, we will all share the success of KB and the fantastic comradeship that we have built up with fellow bikers through this forum.
And besides, it wouldnt be KB if there wasnt some form of healthy exchange of views between members on this thread.:jerry:
Where ever you end up folks this Saturday, may we all raise our glasses (is there an appointed time this is co-ordinated for?) and say Cheers to KB :apint:

It might be prudent to know where I am going once I leave the railway station:
What streets do I follow, and is the Southern Cross on a corner?
Recommended pitstops (establishments) along the way for discharge and refuelling.
Heads Up and Enjoy
The Cross is on Abel Smith Street Guy, near the top end of Cuba Street. Just keep walking till you see heaps of trannies, then you know you're close.

well what a mighty fine evening spent with a bloody awesum bunch! ;)
We had the far southerners turn up, Phaedrus, freetobe, Virago and Mrs, and a couple of others I dont know names of, brilliant you made it all the way up here!
We had a norf island representative Chancyy, all the way down on her '83 RZ350... and plenty of the local rabble, Joni, Kickaha and his sidecar sidekick, Spankme and his better half, Ghostbullet and Mrs (finally got to meet his other half, he is a very lucky to have such an understanding lady!), Mr & Mrs Sensible, Transalper and co, Speedie Girl, Mikkel, Dave-, Heleoftroy, Le Mans & SDU... I'm running outa brain cos I cant remember the rest, about 30 or so in all.
We got to the alehouse to be faced with several of those flippen busloads of drunken partygoers, so we managed to second one small table, then pilfered another as soon as the occupants looked like they were about to move, then another till we had a big long row of tables joined up from all over the bar.
We are a sneaky bunch, and by the end of the night I think we had the entire bar almost to ourselves. Damn good night you all...

A great night. The cake was almost as good as those scurrilous rumours...
Indeed...I clearly remember a nutty flavour, just like the company I was keeping at some point!:niceone::laugh:
Ok.... what I ment to say is, I have an allergy to alcohol, when I drink it, it makes me look and act drunk where in actual fact I am not.
Oooooohh, is that what it was! Meh, you had a big grin on your face, so can't have been that bad!
Well, for me, after just under 10 hours in the saddle coming back up to Orkland, I am still grinning from one ear to the other from this awesome weekend. And the best part is: I'm not even sore! Go the mighty VTR250!!! :2thumbsup:
I kissed her tank lovingly when I made it home last night, thanking her for getting me up and down the country safely and comfortably!
She's going to be a hard one to part with when the upgrading time comes up! :crybaby:

A great night in Christchurch - big thanks to Joni for organising the event.
Great to meet some more KBers. There was a few people I didn't introduce myself to - still, there's always next year's party...

I'm not even sore!
I am.
Fookin gixxers. My resolve to get a CB1100F next year for pootling about the countryside on has strengthened. I have no idea why I decided to carry on north on SH2 and go home via Napier after the Rimutakas.
It's amazing how tootling at 'cruising speed' over significant distances (as opposed to pootling, which is done at 'relaxed pace') clarifies the mind even while it punishes the knees. I slept well last night.

Oh I hear you...i was in pain just looking at you!
And I slept like a baby after taking care of some priorities (and it that order):
Port
Popcorn
stay in the spa, 40 degrees temperature...
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah...Life felt really good last night!!

My K2 was comfy as to ride round the country on ya soft cock.
It's the pegs that fuck me over. Too much squatting with not enough stretching back in the day and a bit of cycling in more recent times has left me with quads that are way too tight.
If I was limber and flexible like you, I'm sure I'd be just fine.
The K2 is comfy as when I put my boots over the pillion pegs and lie on the tankbag, of course.

Your familiarity with comes not from what few conversations we've had. And we've met twice with no more than 15 minutes chatting. Why would you call me sweety?
I fear I now know 3 people who wont admit to their bi-curous nature:buggerd:

Unfortunately I didnt get to mingle with alot of people such as 007xx, Mr Hitcher and others as by the time you late arrivers arrived I was well on my way to being ''tiddly" and you guys seemed to move around the room alot, and I lost my way a few times. But I am sure there will be another time to catch up. I'm glad the Kendogs took good care of you 007xx they are awesome, and seem to delight in having a laugh with me..(actually its more like at me).
